I WON'T SUPPORT IT
I can't quite put my finger on the reason why, but I love environments that shift and have odd perspectives (like the Scarecrow bits in Arkham Asylum or the cruise ship in Uncharted 3), and I love the words projected onto surfaces (like that one Splinter Cell game that I never played but looked super stylish.)
The combat looks great too, people (not me) were worried it'd be too simplified but it's looking promising. I'm pretty sure you can see similar combo inputs to the old DMC games, where pausing between button presses resulted in a different attack.
Anyway, I'm excited! Count me in.
They can't get combat right, so instead they pepper the game with some pretty visuals and platforming, and call it a day.
It would have been fine for another game, but for a combat-focused series such as DMC it will not work. Especially since it's capped at 30FPS.
I'll pass.
Beyond that there's nothing that looks bad to me, I dig the new design if only because I've never digged the look of normal Dante; he;s just always looked contrived to me, like he was designed to appeal to every sense of cool possible, but feels empty because of it. The original design worked better in the anime, which I have watched, but from gameplay videos I've watched it just looked strange.
I love Reuben Langdon, but I've also never felt he was a great fit for Dante's voice, and this new guy actually sounds a LOT like Reuben at certain key points, particularly the end, which is awesome.
Also, the lack of a combo counter or meter in any way looks nice for the HUD-less look, but makes gameplay look monotonous and stale. Maybe it will feel good enough to satisfy, but if enemies each take a long time to kill then it could easily drag on.
And that's just my two-cents!
Go play DMC3 again.
That kind of music is practically a series staple. I wouldn't have it any other way. It's ludicrous, and that's why it fits.
@Gattling Combo: Enjoy your generic brooding teenager character.
I personally am really enjoying the look, and while I still dislike the look of Dante, and still cannot stand Tameem, this is really starting to shape up nice. If they remember to add some replay value I feel like this really could be one of the best DMCs yet. Here is to hoping!

Much more interesting than a generic odd colored haired badass who's an on again off again homosexual. :l
LOL somebody has played any Devil May Cry games lately.
this looks to slow and the enemies seems to be more dumber than the previous games. no style changer, the attacks are slow and where are the stylish points and orbs???
even though this is only in the early stages it's definitely not on par with the past games(maybe Devil May Cry 2, but that's not saying much)
Also, this is looking good, which makes me feel all confused, given that Enslaved was the most disappointing 'press x to win' interactive narrative I experienced in the last few years. I had sworn after that to ignore whatever Ninja Theory did next.
regardless I'm not interested in DMS, but this DOES look good.
But I can't really blame them for this one being "Derivative", it is the 5th game in the series.

I hope that DMC lives up to its name, and the action is actually as tight as I saw in the first trailer. Although it looks a little slow, it looks like there's a lot of combos and moves that chain together. I mean, I'd prefer if there was more of a combo-centric UI while he was fighting (I'm a big fan of the grading system during fights). If they can put that in, and the game isn't as buggy as Enslaved, I will buy DMC.
Oh, and it would be nice if they could get higher quality textures when it comes to the close ups on the character models. They look ugly as fuck in some of the close-up shots. When the action gets going though, things looks pretty nice with all the motion blur.
I'm all for variety, But DMC doesn't exactly fare well in the platforming department, and the jumping still looks pretty stiff.
Still Trying to grab your piece of the Uncharted Pie eh NT?
yet here we have an example of the same thing. dante's over the top persona is now supposed to be super cool, which of course makes him look totally pathetic. yet jim fully supports this despite having talked about how much he loved the old dante and his OTT action hero semi-parody...
