This trailer begins by giving you a run down of many of the characters that will appear in Dissidia, and let me tell you, if you're a Final Fantasy fan and this doesn't get your panties damp, you're either blind or in a coma. I mean, look at this list: Squall, Zidus, Zidane, Jecht, Ultimecia, Cecil, Golbez, Terra, Sephiroth, Butz, Exdeath, Kefka, Cloud ...
The only two favorites of mine that didn't make the cut seem to be Edea and Lulu, but I guess it'd be tough for them to fight in those long dresses they wear. Still, no love for the goth girls. Not that it matters, because this game is still going to be mindblowing anyway.
By the way, if you haven't seen it yet, check out the box that the Dissidia special edition PSP is coming in, and tell me if that isn't some of the sexiest packaging you've ever seen.
That is quite a cast, but I am still concerned about how exactly this thing will play...also, I bristle at what kind of silly plot they'd have to come up with for this, it probably would have been better if they'd gone the Marvel vs. Capcom route and said "hey, there's a bunch of people here, make them kill each other in an exceedingly flashy manner."
Around 2002 I had a fap-worthy fanboy dream of the casts of Final Fantasies VII through X having a battle royale in a foggy forest (don't know why it was a forest), then enjoying a pint in a nearby tavern tended by the cast of FFVI. I don't know why the cast of VI ended up as service staff.
I despair that this is on the PSP, because their is NO WAY they'll be able to fit the Japanese audio track on the UMD. As a proper fanboy, I CANNOT LET THIS PASS.
This game's gonna be awesome. Would have been nice if characters like Riku, Yuffie, Tifa and Freya from FF9(OMG they should have included Freya!). Hope this doesnt take too long to make the trip west.
Here's what I would fap over: if someone took Final Fantasy out into the woods and shot it.Wasn't it enough to ruin the series Square? Now do you have to dredge up my favorite characters from the good old days and whore them out in a terrible PSP fighting game with my most hated new characters?
This is a rape on the order of Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
OK.. so I was like way excited before when I saw Kefka again for the first time in the first trailer.. but HOLY CRAP I just totally wet myself. Amazing.
I like to see those low poly models for all those memorable characters, but is there a plot to justify having so many worlds and universes together as one?
As long as this turns out better than the last final fantasy fighting game (which was nothing more than Tobal #1 with a final fantasy skin thrown over it) I'll be a happy man.
I think there is no need to explain a reason. Crossover fighting games are the fucking bomb.
We didn't need SuperSmashBros, Marvel VS Capcom, Capcom VS SNK, and soon Mortal Kombat VS DCUniverse to have a story to be great. Well actually, most of them have, but their stories suck a lot.
