I listed Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition as one of my most anticipated games of 2012. It would be bad form on my part if I didn't start digging up as much info as I could and sharing all that knowledge with you.
In last week's Jump magazine in Japan, some basic gameplay details were discussed. You start out by selecting a male or female protagonist, not unlike previous Pokémon titles, but your starter will always be Eevee. Your character is a general who goes out into the wild to recruit new Pokémon to serve as your troops. You must defeat other famous generals, each who are paired with a Pokémon, in 17 different kingdoms, and you can recruit new generals with unique special abilities to command your troops in battle.
More details should surface during a press event this Thursday, and the game itself is slated for March 17. Who knows if Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition will be localized, but if not, I'll just have to soldier through an import copy. Check out some screens in the gallery below and hit the links to check out a few more images and bits of info.
