There are some new "choose your own adventure" style flash videos on the official Japanese Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop webisite that reveal more about the game's combat system and enemies. Highlights include Frank getting shot at by a fat zombie, Frank pwning a poodle down with a chainsaw, and Frank driving through hundreds zombies in the Willamette Shopping Mall's garage.
Even with House of the Dead: Overkill and Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers also coming out this month, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is still at the top of my "Most Wanted Wii zombie games" list. It also doesn't hurt that House of the Dead: Overkill got a 3/10 from that Swedish game magazine, while Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop got a 7/10 (assuming that these scores are smudge-free.)
A 7/10 may not sound too great, but ever since Game Informer gave No More Heroes, one of my favorite games ever, a 6.5/10, I've learned that any Wii game that gets over a 6/10 in the eyes of the mainstream gaming press may end up being a classic in mine.
In other words, "I GOTTA BELIEVE!"

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I was getting concerned if this was about the hardware or some bullshit. Thank God.!
Nope, it's still on the Wii last I checked.
Also, fuck no more heroes, the overworld killed it.
This game has been a bit of an embarrassment for a while now, new scans don't change this. It's kind of like putting GTA on the DS...Oh wait.
@TheStripe - TCG didn't even mention the Wii, where the hell are you getting those assumptions from?
I think he mistook him with Fadakar
I didn't know anyone gave No More Heroes a 6.5/10... That's a little sad on their part. To each his own, though.
@Fadakar
Ooh, a candidate for Fanboy Fridays!
Some of you guys are a bit to defensive.
And hey its that dog the old woman wanted.
THANK YOU. Finally. I'm so sick of everyone praising that piece of crap. Ranked fights 6 through 1 sucked and the overworld was painful to play through.
I did enjoy ranked fights 10 through 7 but the rest of the game feels like it was made in 2 months and rushed out the door.
Killer 7 was awesome. No More Heroes is not.
As for Dead Rising Wii... Those screenshots appear playable. It's still however a dumbed down version of the 360 game for twice the price.
I havent seen any joke about the DS or PSP yet.
I don't think it's so much that we get defensive. I think it's more the fact that you never can tell with people around here.
But hey, why would you want to quit? All the cool kids smoke!
Thank you for Smoking guys!
[/sarcasm?]
Must have been really inefficiant code or somthing :/
I have no problem playing a game that scores a 7 (I bought both Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant even after reading the Dtoid reviews), they're usually still decently enjoyable, but I've already played the much better version in this case, and paying 60 bucks for a downgraded version of a 20 dollar game is just ridiculous.
Average has a more positive connotation than mediocre. Lot's of people would rather be "average" than "mediocre".
Look at it this way. There would be no reason for Wii-supporters to be do defensive if others weren't so offensive with their ignorance and bigotry.
I really would.
All of Capcom, all of their jobs, just gone.
All so Dead Rising 2 doesn't come out.
There is a god, and I will believe, if that happens.
Or is it just me? :)
Hopefully EA takes a different path with Dead Space-Wii. Don't scale back a 360 title until it reaches the point that it kind of sort of almost runs on Wii. Keep the original theme but make something new.
As for the NMH debate, i would probably say that my least favorite part were the mundane tasks of lawnmowing, minesweeping...assassination tasks and missions were great even with the crude graphics (which i thought were done on purpose).
To make a point, i think dead rising is based on the parts i did not like of NMH with the additional spilling of blood. And is why i do not find it appealing. BUT, will definitely give it a shot once im done with deadly creatures and house of the dead. 'Choose original'
But... hey, WAIT A MINUTE! None of them are really moving. LAME!
