Here's a trailer for The Darkness 2, yours to enjoy along with the game's newly announced release date. That date, in case you're too busy to click links or watch the above video, is October 4.
I still need to play through the first one, though my local stores inexplicably lack a copy. I'm angrier than an ugly bag of snakes over this.
The Darkness is one of many games that got lost in the shuffle because of my former WoW addiction. I guess I should move that to the front of my backlog now to see what the game is like.
The first one has a few serious gameplay problems (loading times, sluggish controls, main character moves at the speed of a dead snail) but a very powerful narrative and amazing atmosphere. The scene that trailer alludes to (involving Jenny) is horrifying to watch.
So I'm interested in the second game. Although that trailer didn't particularly -- well -- it's kinda shit, really.
"Like an ugly bag of snakes."
I mean, of all the similes one can come up with --
@Brian
*SPOILERS* there are multiple endings, but they are following the ending of Estacado becoming the new Don *END SPOILERS. I SWEAR HAMZA, I'M DOING IT RIGHT*
@Epic: There are no multiple endings. It's just one complete ending.
@Brian: No. He didn't die. MAJOR SPOILER ALERT....The Darkness won and finally kept Jackie as his host. He met Jenny in Heaven as his reward for revenge, but his soul belongs to The Darkness. He can't die until The Darkness finds a new host in Jackie's offspring (explained in the comics) and we see him come back from death several times in the game.
The ending doesn't imply he died at all, just the implication that The Darkness won their battle of wills, because Jackie refused to give up his vendetta.
Am I the only who said Jenny as Forest Gump? "I must save Jen-neh", "I love Jen-neh", "Where's Jen-neh?"
The loading were long, but I like the fact that it had some sort of short story in-between them; although I heard that Crazy Abdul story way too many times.
Are we past the point where I can stop warning people about spoilers? Well just in case, don't watch this if you haven't beaten BioShock Infinite yet. Actually, this won't even make sense until you have gotten all the way th...
