I am morethan a little bitexcited about the upcoming lost-in-the-mountains horror extravaganza Cursed Mountain (you may have noticed). I am a bonafide horror game snob, I tell you, but I have a good feeling about this one. The new trailer after the jump only served to reinforce my feelings on this, not to mention the updates on the official site documenting the ascent of Mount Cho Oyu by one brave team by the name of Andy Holzer. Ever hear of the Donner party, guys?
We still have no concrete release date yet for Cursed Mountain, but we know it's coming this year. In the meantime, you can enjoy the creepy details on the official website and wonder if this game will be as good as I seem to think it will be. Come on, Deep Silver, terrify me!
I really like the idea of being on a cold, snowy mountain. It seems original and gives the game its own personality. Hopefully the the feal of it on the Wii isn't to gimicky.
Oh, fuck! SNOW ZOMBIES! Seriously, when will people learn that messing with ancient artifacts from ANY culture is a seriously bad idea? They didn't learn their lesson with the Necronomicon, they didn't learn their lesson with the Lament Configuration (A.K.A. the LeMarchand Configuration for those who read the actual book, A.K.A. the Puzzle Box from Hellraiser for those who're wondering what the hell I'm talking about), and judging from the trailer, it looks like they're not going to learn their lesson with the "Tarma", either.
Still, Snow Zombies. If I had a Wii, I'd probably get it, but since I don't I guess I'm stuck in a horror doldrum until Splatterhouse comes out this December :(
You know you have a successful horror game when no gamer would play the game because it's too scary.
The setting though sounds kind of generic. An isolated snowy place that is devoid of life, and something mysterious happens, you know shit is happening up there and it's not going to be pretty.
good voice acting. too bad they seem to lack any kind of coherent art direction. if this ends up being more than generic stumbling around in the dark, the wii could finally start accruing a mature library.
I'm really stoked for the game. The idea of survival horror in a place difficult to survive without adding in the possibility of evil entities first is awesome. n-space's Winter comes to mind...
Does anyone else find it impossible to even care enough to switch the AV source to play their Wii the few times when there have been good games out for it? It's the craziest thing! I'd rather play my 360 and the chances of me even buying a Microsoft console are somewhere between none and noner.
Nintendo deserves a medal or a ribbon or something for creating a console that actively repels their former die hard fan base. That's got to be a first in the industry.
I love the soundscape they've created. Soft, tremulous voices; unearthly groans; deep bass rumblings. Honestly, it's not enough for me to want to buy a Wii but it's enough to make me wish it was coming out on a decent format.
I'm really looking forward to this now. I've been kind of following it for a while, but this trailer really cemented it for me.
I just hope the gesture-based combat system works. Has anybody heard if this is going to support MotionPlus?
The Wii is pretty awesome, just have to give it a chance unless you're an online shooter kind of virus then...Well, good luck. Wii gets a lot of undeserved hate in my opinion. You're so hardcore man.
This game has had me excited since the first tech demo they showed, graphics are pretty good, production values seem high overall. Nice to see so much 3rd party effort on Wii this year.
I can't wait to play this, hopefully it won't be mediocre. Some gameplay videos I saw looked like the player had trouble aiming (how hard can it be to aim the Wiimote?). I wish Winter would get published also. I love horror wintry games/movies! RE CODE: Veronica had a great winter level.
It sounds like some pretty good voice acting. If only I could understand half the words the guy was saying. I don't know if it's the accent or the sound filter or what, but up until "high altitude hallucination" I was completely lost on the most of the words coming out of his mouth.

Also, Curse of Brokeback Mountain would've been a much cooler title. :p

Oh, I went there alright.
