The almost continual promotional build up for Deus Ex: Human Revolution has me foaming at the mouth wanting this game. This new trailer shows some of the shadowy forces that the main protagonist, Adam Jensen, will be hunting. Knowing how deep the the original game went into the murky world of The Illuminati and similar groups, Human Revolution looks to be following the same dark path.
As a Deus Ex fanboy, these trailers have convinced me that Eidos Montreal have at the very least, nailed the look and the aesthetic of the series. The game's grim, urban dystopias fit right in with the cyberpunk stylings Deus Ex is known for. Again there's the obligatory takedown sequence where Adam uses his wrist blades on some poor unsuspecting fool. These are getting more wince-inducing the more I see them.
If you've read the prequel novel, Icarus Effect, you might also recognize some of the characters in the trailer here, but I won't spoil any details for anyone. The game's still on track for it's late August release which for me, just ain't soon enough.
Every time I see a trailer or get near that leaked preview, it makes me want to pre-order another Augmented Edition copy just because it's so damn good.
Every time I hear that piece of music, boners are had. That said, I'm not really looking forward to this game, but the cut-scenes and art-style look so amazing!
I want to like this game, and after thinking about how they're trying for a different sense of immersion (make you feel what the main character feels through first person, but also make you admire how fucking good he is at doing random shit by zooming out to third person in certain situations), It makes me want to like it more...it's just, there are quirks in this that I see and saw (in alpha build videos) that just makes me think the game needs way more time than august release.
After playing the leaked beta I can confirm this game will be a worthy sequel to the original. The ONLY problem I have with it is the horrible-looking pre-rendered cutscenes. I have no idea why they would even do that, I mean, what games use all pre-rendered cutscenes like this anymore?
Elias Toufexis and Michael Mando, the voice actors for Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Adam Jensen, and Far Cry 3's Vaas, sit down with Michael Mando Films to talk about their roles as videogame voice actors. The duo talk about their work, and then hug each other all over the floor like the bestest of friends that they are.
Awwwwwww.
