It had been rumored for a while, but now it's confirmed; the ironically named female fighter Yatterman 2, is playable in this month's Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. Gamespot got the exclusive on their On the Spot video news show. She looks like a pretty awesome "set-up" character, sort of like Rolento from the Street Fighter Alpha series, but cuter and with more electric, heart shaped projectiles.
Seth Killian had this to tell me himself about the situation- "Yep, we still have a couple of Tatsunoko-flavored aces up our sleeves, including Yatterman 2 (aka Ai-chan). She’s a total beast, with electric hearts flying everywhere and a gigantic, match-ending robot pelican. You heard me: giant robot pelican. Anyway I challenge anyone to play that game for 5 minutes and not crack a smile. It oozes fun."
Note that he says "aces". I wouldn't be surprised if there are more characters and/or secrets in the game. Only a few weeks until we find out ourselves. Still can't wait to see what Frank West's ending and mini-game will be like...
Stay tuned this week for more news straight from Seth about other Capcom games, such as Mega Man 10, Dark Void and Dark Void Zero.

Meet the rest of the team
But really, glad to see they're making the American release as awesome as possible. I haven't played a good fighting game since BlazBlue, so I'm looking forward to this.
Rumor is that the final three characters will be announced tomorrow in a japanese event. The producer of the game was hinting at a big reveal for the 6th. Read it on GoNintendo.
I am sooo hyped! I just ordered the stick from Mad Catz direct using a 10% off coupon for joining their mailing list. I also ordered a Sanwa JLF stick with blue balltop and 4 white Sanwa OBSF-30 pushbuttons. As much as I love the import, I cannot wait for the U.S. release. Killian is promising really good online and I've got my Wii wired up and ready to go. If you're going to play this online, buy a LAN adapter. Fighters need the stability of a wired connection.
Can't wait for the game! English language, 5 new characters, and best of all, NO HAKUSHON DAIMAŌ. No offense to anyone who liked him or his show, but he just didn't cut it for me.
i absolutely must have this game. it is going to have to (sadly) wait, as i've gotten at least half a dozen games in the last two weeks, and i really can't keep my current gaming pace up. how am i supposed to find time to play all of these games? probably going to be a february purchase.
I've got your same problem, but backwards. I'm buying this on day one, but then I'm going to have to wait to buy No More Heroes 2 until February since I don't have $100 lying around to buy them both at once.
I got to play TvC at AX and it's easily my favorite fighting game of this generation. Totally buying it day one.
@Jonathan
I'm not quite sure, I remember reading it today but I'm looking over GoNintendo and I can't seem to find what I was reading. I remember spotting the story again in my RSS reader which means it was updated, so it was probably edited, so that might be why I can't find something about three more characters.
yeah I've been seeing screens of Yatterman-1 running around recently so I assumed there was a Yatterman-2 but couldn't remember any press release or anything on it. Good to know I'm not going crazy.
also, can't wait to get my hands on Tekkaman Blade.

This is Tatsunoko vs Capcom, not Gainax vs Capcom.
Not to say Gainax vs Capcom wouldn't be an awesome idea. I'd love to have Nadia and Elena on the same team. Shinji vs Jin. Strider vs Kamina. Hint hint, Capcom.
Gainax vs Capcom could never work simply because the introduction of any Gurren Lagann character would utterly break the game. Shooting blue fireballs can only do so much to the man who will pierce the heavens! :D

It's pronounced Yattermun (she's Jewish).

Where did you get this "final three" idea from?
Woo...now I have about four or five characters I REALLY wanna master.
Huzzah! Even sides!

Regardless, Ai-Chan is probably the announcement.
