New Brink video explains a myriad of battlefield tactics
The final Brink video in its "Get SMART" series explains how command posts, turrets, mines, and disguises can be used for battlefield control. Turrets in particular can be very effective when placed in strategic positions, as I noticed in a multiplayer session at gamescom last year, although I bet players will get good at using the SMART controls to circumvent turrets in no time once the game is released next week. Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I don't know. I was dead set on pre-ordering this, but then was suddenly turned off by it after reading and watching a bunch of stuff about it. This game seems very interesting, and very different from traditional first-person shooters. I love the atmospheric look and the music is sounding very good so far. I can tell they were influenced by Mirror's Edge, which is a good thing. Still unsure if I want to buy this or not. I mean it sounds good... but I'm worried the execution will lack or something. Duno, call me crazy. Huh, I like the idea of the indestructible turrets. It's a blunt, forceful way to circumvent spawn camping. Though I'm sure some players will figure out a way to circumvent that circumvention.
Just a few more days! Oh..one other thing..the "r" in "smart" seems kind of unnecessary. I mean, terrain on a manmade floating city is anything but random, somebody would have conceptualized, manufactured and built the thing, right? That doesn't sound random to me.. I guess it just sounded better than "smat". But that's what it should be;smart movement over terrain @ salamagogo Yeah except the city is crumbling, stuff is falling over, containers are randomly stacked on top of each other. So yes, random still works. 5:00 PM on 08.02.2012 Get all Bethesda games for $100 on Steam this weekendOur intrepid Destructoid reporters are tweeting from the live Quakecon floor that an amazing deal is headed our way.
