The latest batch of tracks that will appear on Guitar Hero Smash Hits have been revealed by Activision, and they once again look pretty damned good.
For those just tuning in, Guitar Hero Smash Hits is a full-band game that takes tracks from Activision's previous guitar-only Guitar Hero titles. The publisher has asked fans to determine which songs should be revealed, on a per-game basis. The first batch of songs were revealed from the original game; this second batch from the follow-up, Guitar Hero II. Surprise.

- Rage Against The Machine - "Killing In The Name"

I'll readily admit that I feel Rock Band (the interface, the base gameplay, the DLC model) is far superior to Guitar Hero World Tour (on which Smash Hits' engine is based on), it's hard to not get excited about this. I'll say it again -- Smash Hits is shaping up to have one of the most solid track-listings in any guitar and/or band game. No surprise, as it's quite literally taking the "best" tracks for the previous games, leaving most of the filler by the wayside.
The entire track list from the game, as revealed so far, can be found after the jump. Do want?
[Thanks, power-glove!]

I'll wait till this hits the $20-$30 range. I really don't like paying $60 or even $40 for all these songs I've played before. I really won't do much with it other than tear through the game's main setlist a few times for cheevos and then the odd party.
Then again, about half of these songs I already have on Rock Band or something I'd rather play, so I dunno.
Also, where's the effect peddles GH?
I'm strongly in the RB camp, but I might pick this up when it comes down or if I find it used.
WAIT! No "Search and Destroy" by Iggy and the Stooges, and no "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" from the Stones!? No fucking deal, how did they put together a best of and miss two of the best tracks on II - great songs, tonnes of fun to play.
I don't know. I wish the ps3 rock band guitar worked with the ps2 gh 1 and 2.
So true.
Fail.
I see what you did thar.
In for one after price drop.
I will probably be picking this up close to launch day depending on how they place the launch date in regards to Rock Band: The Beatles.
That means 11 more split between 80s/III?
That seems weird. Personally, a bigger incentive for me to actual purchase these games is if they had a setlist the size of the main entry Rock Bands/Guitar Heroes. If you're taking the best from 1 - 3, I'm pretty sure you can make it to at least 80 songs.
