Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

New content for Army of Two will be coming out next week for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. The Security and Strategy Corporation (SSC) Challenge DLC will contain a new challenge mode and new maps for the challenge mode. The SSC Challenge mode will be set for two teams of two where they will complete obstacle courses as fast as possible. Winners will be determined by who gets the most cash or who's left standing at the end of the rounds.

I like the concept here as it is a very fresh idea. Instead of just kill, kill, kill, it's now a foot race ... with a side of killing. The video above will give you a much better idea of what to expect.

No word on how many maps will be in the pack, but it'll be out on both platforms next Thursday for $7.50 in America. The DLC will then make an appearance for European gamers but with a slight difference. It'll be out at the same time as the American release for the 360 but the PS3 version looks to be coming out in May for the PS3. The DLC will cost €4.75 and £3.80 in Europe.

Anyone planning on getting it?

ARMY OF TWO RECRUITS TWO-MAN TEAMS FOR THE ULTIMATE ONLINE
CO-OPERATIVE CHALLENGE

EA Montreal's Intense Two-Man Military Gameplay Continues with New
Mode and Maps Available for Download

Montréal, Canada, April 18, 2008 – Calling all private military
contractors! Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that its
3rd person co-op shooter, ARMY OF TWO™, is expanding its two-man
combat experience by releasing the new Security and Strategy
Corporation (SSC) Challenge mode and maps. The unique SSC Challenge
mode has two teams of two competing in an intense obstacle course for
the chance to join the SSC, the Private Military Corporation in ARMY
OF TWO. The new maps will be available on April 24 in North America
and Europe on Xbox LIVE(R) Marketplace. The download pack will also
come to the PLAYSTATION(R) Store on April 24 in North America and May
2008 in Europe.

"We want to support our fans with new content that delivers on the
two-man gameplay but with a unique twist," says Alain Tascan, VP and
General Manager of EA Montreal and Executive Producer of Army of Two.
"The SSC Challenge gives players a chance to test their skills in a
different setting while retaining the action packed co-op intensity
that gamers have come to expect in Army of Two."

Intertwined with over-the-top combat, feverish action and challenging
obstacle courses, players will work as a team to race to the finish in
the four new co-op maps. The team that completes the course with the
most cash will be crowned the ultimate two-man military outfit. The
SSC Challenge mode and maps will be available for $7.50 in North
America and €4.75 and £3.80 in Europe.

Who actually bought this game? Didn't even seem like anything worth more than a weekend rental.

Does the new content include a patch that makes it good?

i got it for ps3 but the damn thing still is impossible to play online with the constant ea server disconnects and subsequently getting booted to the title screen. so i haven't played it since release and the dlc sounds boring :/

It's nice to see this game is getting some DLC already. I've never played it but I'm not really into this genre.

If fail and apathy could ever be captured in one blog post, it's this one. (Not Hamza's fail, the game's.) Almost as much as the post about Two Worlds DLC.

--i might be a the odd one out here, but I hated the onlie mode for that game. But the co-op campagne I thought was really fun (in that really awkvard I have just been screwed multipe times by the proverbial waleros fun kinda way, but enjoyed it) so I have no hopes for the new DLC pakage.

I am never buying a region-locked online game.

but the PS3 version looks to be coming out in May for the PS3

So what about the PS3 version for the 360, or the 360 version for the PS3?

I'm sorry Jim :(. But I really didn't like the game, and I guess it's good that it's finally getting some DLC, but I don't think it will make it that much better in the long run.

I didnt want to buy this before, because it looked like a super hero duo clone of Gear of war... now I learn the Online play is region locked, and it already is dishing out DLC (Which I refuse to BUY...). No go.

Someone traded this game with for my Condemned 2, its the best co-op game I've ever played but the region locking thing is pretty fucking stupid.
