250 GB Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 available for preorder photo

Announced this evening in Hollywood, California, at the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 press event, you can now look forward to a very special new purchase if you are a Call of Duty fan. This limited edition Xbox 360 is beautifully skinned and comes with a 250 GB hard drive, two wireless controllers, and a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The price has been confirmed at $399, and apparently, Gamestop (and other retailers) are already taking pre-orders in the U.S. right now. As soon as we find out more on that, we'll let you know. In the meantime, take a look at a few pics from the event in the gallery (check out those Modern Warfare 2 headphones!). Is this something that would appeal to you, or are you perfectly happy with your solid color console?

My guess is that it has ACTIVISION plastered all over it.

Also, if this means I can upgrade my current hard drive by putting in a reasonably priced 250gb HDD and the xbox taking it, then I'm happy.

Kraid, it will sell "millions" because it is bundled with a super popular game that a lot of friends of yet-to-be 360 owner's already have, meaning it's a reason to buy a console, a game and a way to socialize with friends.

I never understood special edition consoles. You didn't see Dark Knight special edition BluRay players. The fact that it's for a sequel to a game on the same system makes it all the more confusing. Who would be buying a 360 now that is a huge fan of Modern Warfare? If they like Modern Warfare enough to buy a special edition console, wouldn't they own something that played the original? Then why wouldn't they play Modern Warfare 2 on the same hardware?

...Am I the only one here who thinks this is a pretty damn good deal? Buy an elite with MW2, an extra controller and boom, you've got $410 right there. This is like that but for $10 less and over twice the HDD capacity. And it's SPECIAL.

250 gb? I have a 120, and after installing every game that can benefit from it, plus a good 30-40 arcade games and all the DLC for Fable, Gears, Fallout 3, Oblivion, and about 5 gigs of Rock Band songs...I still have like 30 gigs of space left.
Seriously, I have no idea how you'd fill a 250 gb one up. Videos maybe? But if I wanted videos, I'd just stream them from my TB external HDD.

I understand where you see value, in fact there is. It's just I don't see the 360 being worth $350(including 1 year live membership)

If I could get a 250gb 360 with MW2, 2 controllers, headset, and a 1+year live membership, I'd be willing to pay $300.

The system has been out a long time, I'm buying a shorter lifespan than originally garaunteed, and hardware upgrades should not presuppose that a discounted price shouldn't still be mandatory. It's the same price as it was when it was first launched.

Just doesn't make alot of sense to me. Who are they targeting with this? Hardcore pre-existing 360 owners who need to buy a new one cause the old one broke? Because I don't see this attracting new audiences nor the $300 elite.

I'm with dwolfwood, I don't get this.

Even if it is a good value if you want an Xbox 360 and all those things I just don't see the market for it, and I don't think this is the time for MS to put out a console with a higher pricepoint than the PS3 when they don't even have a Blu-ray drive in it.

I see Gene Eric is still failtrolling 360. You think Jasper Models get RRoD like the old models? ROFL. I'm using a Falcon from last year and I leave my 36o on almost 24/7 and it's 100% perfect. Imagine a Jasper model made in late fall 2009..
