Netflix wants Netflix on every device, including consoles not-named-Xbox 360. In a recent interview with Reuters, CEO Reed Hastings talked big about wanting the rental service “on all game consoles,”
despite having an exclusivity agreement with Microsoft. “Eventually, we want to be on all game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the Internet TVs,” said Hastings. “So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts.”
“Currently our Xbox deal is exclusive and we haven’t characterized it more than that,” he said.
It’s not over PS3 and Wii owners. No need to push those
platform-specific surveys or casually-dropped hints out of mind quite yet. Netflix seems set on plopping their service onto other platforms.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Capitalism eh, forcing us do things we don't want to since the invention of money.
(Nintendo didn't seem to care either way)
fuck you M$ and your paid exclusives

I guess I'd rather see my PS3 get cross-game-home voice chat.
For real.
They shouldn't complain when THEY were the ones who agreed to the deal.
Blockheads.
Yeah, paid-for exclusives suck, but Microsoft aren't the first and won't be the last to implement them. Netflix always had the choice not to sign the deal, and I'm sure they were rewarded handsomely for doing so.
Microsoft: "Here's a contract and some money."
Netflix: "Fuck yeah money!" *contract signed*

Netflix: "Hey wait a second, we could've made more money..."

how do you think any company secures exclusives in any industry? Maybe sometimes it's not paid for in cash but it is always, always about the greenbacks in the end.
look @ Your Moms Hot Lover, craigbezzle and I am sure more to come below me-
the thing is that consumers just don't like exclusives unless they are fanboys or rich.
all of us that are neither don't care what's on the other console as long as we have the opportunity to use it on ours- sorry if that makes me "bitching and moaning"

Can't blame no one. Microsoft is looking for their best interests and Netflix looked for its best interest back when they signed. Now I hope Sony looks for their bests interest and makes a deal with Hulu and other services for watching unlimited videos for a small fee. I watch netflix from my friends xbox, and dough it is nice, they don't have the latest good movies which are already released, so I hope someone comes with something better and puts it on the PS3. Watching movies without the fear of getting a RROD is priceless.
