Nerdcore article history

We posted this article as kind of a gag back in June 2006 but day after day it is apparently discovered by a new web sites and people come from far and wide to see the nerdcore girls of gaming. We didn't shoot any this stuff -- it was just floating around on the internet but no gaming site would dare post it despite its obvious role in gamer culture. In 2007 a calendar was finally released and since then it's been less taboo.

We've received a ton of questions about the origins of these photos.  Some come from comments people have sent us on our MySpace page. Some were actually sent in by readers of our site (their girlfriends, we hope). Some were random web finds on Google. After the article was widely syndicated we began receiving tons of submissions, most of which we can't post (the gallery is SFW).  What we have learned: Gamer girls are strange and guys are stranger.

Shameless? Nah. To set the record straight, Destructoid did not commission or solicit these photos. They're found or contributed. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of boobies. Enjoy. Now that we have three female writers, you should not be surprised that there is also a male equivalent of this article.
