Every MMO is a gamble in my opinion, regardless of who is behind its creation: a lot of them are pretty shabby clones of other MMOs. Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent, the first offering from Atlus' online portal, looks pretty cool concept-wise though, and today marks the start of a campaign that allows players to get their first crack at the game.
Starting today and running through May 12th, Atlus Online will randomly distribute golden tickets to people who have joined the Atlus Online community. These will grant early access to the game. This will be the first of many promotions throughout the month of May. Everyone who has signed up and plays in the beta this month will also recieve a pair of the google you see above, which might be one of the coolest freebies I've ever seen. Nice work, Atlus Online!
If you haven't signed up to register yet, you can go here to do so. I have no golden ticket in my inbox, but maybe one will appear today. I hope. There's a new trailer after the jump if you'd like to see more about Neo Steam. I want to play a Pom!
I have to say I wasn't so impressed with the beta of Shin Megami Tensei Imagine Online, but if I understand it correctly that game is under the Aeria games banner rather than Atlus directly. This definitely looks to have more of the Atlus personality, at any rate.
I am crossing my fingers for this. I joined AO even before the site officially launched, so I think I'm in pretty good standing for early access. I hope.
Also, from what I've read on the main site's forums, there's only one pair of goggles available, and in order to have the chance of winning them, you have to have gotten a golden ticket and have reached level 20. Only then will you be legible for the draw.
Here's a direct quote from the forums:
"Everyone that plays in the betas and gets to Level 20 will automatically be entered in a drawing to win a pair of handcrafted steampunk-inspired Neo Steam goggles!
Made with pure brass, real leather, clockwork gears, and a blue LED light to mimic the “Neo Steam” tank in-game, this pair of goggles will be a true collector’s piece as well as a valuable and long-lasting cosplay item."
hmm...i got really excited reading about this, but the video doesn't keep me interested. i think ill have to pass. maybe someday there will be an mmo for me.

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
That was me. I didn't even know about it until I had read the email announcing the giveaway about an hour before I got my Golden Ticket
*crosses fingers*
Shut up, idiot.

Game looks like Warcraft with more airships and things made of brass. Lame.
