Need for Speed SHIFT, Slightly Mad Studios/Black Box's take on the long-lived series, has been dated for release on September 17 for Europe, and the 22nd for North America.
Considering how you can get the gist of this story by reading the first sentence of this post, I won't blame you for leaving early. But, if you'd like to hear me ramble on about NFS SHIFT, by all means stick around.
As someone who -- for the most part -- only plays arcade-style racing games when it comes to the genre, I was more than pleased to hear that resident shark Hamza Aziz was able to get into SHIFT even though he has a similar taste in racing titles.
That, and the game looks pretty sizzlin', which got me interested in the first place. Don't judge me!
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

I used to play NfS: Underground (that was fun while it lasted) but then I just took up real driving.
I picked up UG1 used for $5, but got stuck on one race partway thru the game, so traded up to UG2. Enjoying it so far though!
SHIFT looks cool though, might go check out the trailer later. (Definetly getting a GRID/Forza/Gran Turismo vibe from the screenshots.)
