Fast cars? Loud guitars? Sounds like a typical Destructoid weekend. But, it's only Tuesday, and we're certainly not complaining.

A demo for Electronic Art's Need for Speed: Pro Street has hit Xbox Live, and it weighs in at 654.64 MB. We haven't played it yet, but we're going to assume there are a lot of cool smoke effects and fast cars in it. The demo is joined by that Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock demo that we mentioned yesterday, and Mr. Major Nelson's blog reports that the bad boy is 544.82 MB, so plan your downloads accordingly.

Since we're too busy (doing hard work) to play games, why not download them and let us know what you think?

I have little time for mindless games like racing titles. I'll wait for Burnout, the ULTIMATE mindless racing game! Haha.

Pro Street is going to be a pretty fun game probably.

Pro Street looks great. The Need For Speed series goes good every other game. Need for Speed Underground, skin one, then Most Wanted, skip one, and you have Pro Street. Hopefully it'll be good.

Wow, just got playing this demo and I am shocked! Theres two modes Speed Challenge and Grip race. Speed challenge was like a sprint race, but, Winning is based on the highest speed achieved when marked at a checkpoint. Grip Race was just a lap race.
2 thing I noticed on the GripRace was how controlled your car is. It isnt all over the road but rather quite precise on higher difficulty anyhow. Also you can tell they've been playing forza because they threw in the green speed line on the bottom of the track. Also the damage is ok. It isn't sim worthy ,but its ok.
I thinnk if they throw in the old school drag racing from Underground 1&2 i'll buy it. If not i'll just rent it.

I thought the NFS demo was pretty poor. I took the grip race by 32 seconds over the next car on highest differculty... and the speed race was just as easy, hit the nitro before each checkpoint and you gain enough to finish it off.

I was really looking forward to prostreet but it looks like its gonna let me down bigtime.

I concur my Dtoid friends,

When you start the demo, you are given option to leave the demo (HAH)
This 'speed race' if you want to call it that, is quite sad. EA wants us all to believe that it took them years to make this title? no freakin way man! Its physics are neat, but this whole arcady/sim style is seriously crap (take a dev from the burnout team to fix this) I didnt even need turbo to get 1st place, as well I wonder why the PITT maneuver doesnt work? To sum it up.. crappy interface (I didnt even find how to choose grip race)as well as flaky AI. In ending, this is a 12 year old's title. I shudder to think that a corp like EA can release this crap as a demo.
