Finally! The Behemoth has just announced the Necromantic DLC pack set to bring the one character everyone has been dying to play as. Oh yes, the Necromancer is coming and so is the chainsaw! OH JOY!

The DLC pack will also see a Cult Minion as another playable character, the NG Skull Mace weapon and the Dragonhead animal orb. The Behemoth is waiting on Microsoft to date and price the DLC pack but we should expect to see the Necromantic pack "SOON."

It's been far too long since I last touched Castle Crashers but I think this new DLC pack will get me back into the game. Any of you planning on jumping back into the game once the DLC is released?

Finally! I've been waiting for this ever since I beat the game the first time!

Castle Crashers got old after the first two hours. No way I'm paying for this.

The fact that all the characters continue to play the exact same makes this a fairly pointless addition.

I just might. I picked up the King pack earlier, since it was pretty cheap, and then played through the game as the King. It really changed things up.

But the Necromancer has some badass attacks.

I'll probably pick it up I have a few points just laying around and I'd much rather support Behemoth than impulsively buy some avatar clothes.

"It's been far too long since I last touched Castle Crashers but I think this new DLC pack will get me back into the game."

Exactly what I was thinking. I could make my wife heal me as the King, and play as the Necromancer.

I did the lv.256 glitch(because I was bored with the game, dont flip on me, guys)so unless I delete my memory I dont think I'll hop back in... I just dont want to loose my Rouge. He's so cool, unlocking him was a pain before I was 256.

Any idea if the same DLC is coming to PSN?

Same maps? No new bosses? Same gameplay just with new characters again? No thanks. The game will end up just being as boring as it was until they do a massive overhaul. Unfortunately, with their release of "game 3" coming up in 2010, I can't see why they'd update this game like that in the first place. This sounds like a sore cry for more earth monies.

No new content? Are they running out of funds for their next game and decided to just release another character pack in the hopes enough of their fans will buy it?

New campaigns and stuff? Hell yeah I'd buy it. You can keep your extra characters and weapons though, that's just lazy.

Gawd you guys can bitch about anything. Unbelievable.

This is old stuff that's been hanging out for quite a while: Somebody unearthed the chainsaw model late last year.

I'm pretty cool with supporting these guys by purchasing a little bit of DLC, though. It'll be cool if the Necromancer comes with a game-changy sort of magic, like the King's heal.

Also: "too late.... ive moved on to other games. =("

I don't understand. Did you sell your copy? I don't play it much either, but I'm not opposed to ever playing it again, ever.

Enh, whatever. Maybe I'm getting too old to appreciate game based entitlement and consumer based righteous indignation...

Kalmah: It'd better be included in the PSN version from the start. That or the PSN version needs to be discounted. Waiting a year needs to be worth something.

Will wait for PSŁ version of Castle Crashers which will either have DLC built in or have it for free on the PSN.... It only cost on XBL due to MS, Behemoth wanted to be free!

Its nice that they still support and new content for a game thats a year old, but there should be be something more after a year. The first DLC came out almost 4 months after the initial release and we get the same content update after another 8 months? If they stuck while the iron was hot, soon after the first DLC, then they would sell more.

"This is old stuff that's been hanging out for quite a while: Somebody unearthed the chainsaw model late last year. "

So the models have been around since at least the first DLC, is it microsoft holding up the release, or Behemoth moving resources for their next game? I just dont understand why they released DLC for LIVE game this late after its release...wait scratch that, its not even dated, just announced.

I think Bethesda has it right "model" for DLC: release the game, then release dlc every 2-3 months till they run out of content.

i bet the reason for this is because of the PSN version coming out. which i can only assume is also going to have this.

Why the hell can't they release an expansion? The game is super fun, but once you beat it loses its novelty a bit. Plus it seems like they are planning too, because the map has places that you can see to the right.

I'm not surprised this is coming out so late though. Didn't Castle Crashers take 10 years to come out anyway?

Love this game, but I played through it a million times. Don't know if I'm ready to go back to it. Either way, Necromancer DLC is a good idea.

I actually just got this game 2 days ago, so I think I'll wait before thinking about buying DLC for it. But the game is pretty good so far, and I think getting a chainsaw would be pretty cool. Maybe once the game starts wearing thin I'll get it, but I'm good with the game by itself for now.

I'm hoping Behemoth does the same thing with this that they did with the last DLC pack: Give away like 100,000 codes for it just for posting in a forum thread, since MS wouldn't let them just make it a free add on. Either that or maybe MS will stop forcing them to charge money for it. Not counting on that though.

God damn, this has taken way too long. I love Castle Crashers, but I haven't played it in months. Maybe I'll buy it if I have points lying around, just to support The Behemoth. But yeah, would've been nice half a year ago when I was more into the game.
