I'm squirming in my office seat, wincing in pain, sweating of embarrassment. Why? I just watched NBC's Today Show play Rock Band. It hurt.

Rockefeller Plaza was subjected to aural torture as Today Show hosts Matt Lauer (guitar), Meredith Vieira (horrendous vocals), Al Roker (drums), and Natalie Morales (legs, bass) did their rendition of Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer." This band doesn't have a prayer, and I pray to God that I'll never hear that again.

It was all pretty bad, but Vieira's lead vocals were painful. Hell, Willard Scott would have done better then her at vocals.

I've seen a lot of Rock Band in my day, but that's easily the worst I've ever seen/heard, and it was televised live!

Destructoid can hold their own at Rock Band, so we can talk sh*t if we want. Didnt' you know? Our own Editor-in-Chief is a Rock Band god?

[Via Kotaku -- thanks, Sheldon]

No, just no. That was unbearable. The Today Show is pure shit. Roker was pretty bad ass on the drums though.

lol my favorite part is at the end, when he's holding the guitar and pretending to play.

first off he's pretending to play a pretend to play instrument.

and he doesn't even have one fucking hand on any button lol

Man, that was amazing... say what you will but that Al Rokers nipple slip in this clip was hot.

Note: There is no nipple slip, I added that to make it seem exciting and steamy.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The best is when they are practicing in the green room and Matt Lauer goes "MOVE! I can't see my notes!"

The piece was actally pretty decent...until they started playing it. The whole reason people want to play Rock Band is to look and feel like a rock star. When they make asses of themselves playing the game, it compeltely ruins the illusion.

Note to Harmonix, next time you want to promote your game, get ScoreHero to perform, not the local news team. >.>

You can ask two certain individuals who run this site. You know who you are. lol.

I don't screw around with Rock Band.

Playing the guitar behind my head, pulling off the Highway Star solo, and actually hitting the really high note at the beginning of the song. Had to do it twice cause the guitarist failed for the band, so he had to go to a lower difficult. I don't blame him, the guitar sucked. It didn't want to register the keys. The 'drummer' did OK. lol.

Anyways, yea, once I get a 360, I would love to challenge some D-Toiders to some shredding action in Rock Band. It will be epic. :D
