Next thing ya know, the Wii version gets canceled. I dunno; it goes from "Oh yeah, this is Wii-exclusive. Don't be prayin' for 360/ps3 release" to "Eh, MAYBE we'll go multiplatform." to "Hey, we're shippin' dis thing with NBA Elite 11!" to "Hey! This has online while the Wii version's doesn't!" to "Guess what? This is becoming it's own game on the 360/PS3!" Next you'll be telling me that it'll get the Remix Tour that was promised to be Wii-exclusive. >_>
Thank god this stupid tactic of trying to use NBA Jam to sell NBA Elite has failed. Fuck their marketing, most people that enjoyed NBA Jam back in the day could give two shits about a basketball sim.

Well that is a kick in the nuts to Wii owners. Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will get the game in HD and with online play. Oh well......looks like I will get this game for 360.
Great, I can actually get NBA Jam now. Elite 11 demo was awful. I couldn't score, and computer couldn't score either. The game ended up as a draw which should never happen in ball game.

I wouldn't put it past EA to offer NBA Jam for the 360 and PS3 for $50 and then offer the remix tour as DLC.

Nobody has explained to me why I should be so interested in this game when NBA Street Volume 2 set the bar for arcade basketball so high.
This is actually a lot better of news for people wanting just NBA Jam. Achievement lists lead me to believe the title is digital only, but who knows now? Maybe we can get that HD version of the game...or stop being pussies and just buy the Wii version.
Good, now I don't have to worry about NBA Jam not having online multiplayer on the Wii. I'll just get the 360 version...

I've confused myself. I've seen lots of articles saying "Online mutiplayer only on 360/PS3 NBA Jam", meaning no online on Wii, not no offline on PS3/360 :)

I didn't notice the rampant problems people are complaining about in the Elite demo. I found a bug, but the gameplay did what it purported to do. It's really easy to make shots as you get better at it, but I can see 2K players not wanting to actually have to be good at shooting to score.
The sterile, stats driven bore that was 2K11 can be as polished as it wants but it has nothing to offer me in terms of fun. Maybe it'd be better if I just wanted to simulate a season and manage a team, but the controls feel so dated next to progressive sports games like NHL11, which have been slowly bringing more comprehensive and skill based controls as opposed to keeping the arcadey, less skilled "button to shoot, insert shooting stat and accuracy stat into equation" method.

Hey, good news for NBA Live owners, I guess...roster updates for the new year on an old game are pretty unprecedented.

It would've only included Play Now, the Classic Campaign (the traditional ladder-style tournament), and four-player Online Play.
