Naughty Bear 'Episode 9' coming this month photo

Gamers craving more misadventures with a furry, murderous stuffed toy are in for a treat this month. "Episode 9," new content for Naughty Bear, is coming this month.

The new episode will feature new characters, costumes, in-game challenges, as well as a new batch of Xbox 360 Achievements and PlayStation 3 trophies. This one looks to be a pirate-themed, with new characters Admiral Giggles and The Dead Pirate Bearbeard. This means swashbuckling, as well -- the content will add a pirate's cutlass with its own ultra-kill ability.

"Episode 9" will be available for download on your Xbox 360 for 400 MS Points, or your PlayStation 3 for $4.99. In Jim's review for Naughty Bear, he called it "one of the biggest disappointments of the year" adding "no game about a psychopathic teddybear should be this boring." We'll see what he thinks once hears pirates are involved!

When most people realize they are in a hole, they stop digging.

How the hell A2M is still in business after the release of two huge commercial and critical disasters as WET and Naughty Bear, is beyond the imagination of the most astute business analyst.

This.

I really am surprised that they keep trying to act like people play Naughty Bear.

huhuhuhuhuh.

A2M. That's filthy. huhuhuhuhuh.

Seriously though, I thought Naughty Bear was supposed to be terrible? Since when do devs make DLC for terrible games that no-one plays???

Weird.

I think the definition of insanity works well too. Doing something over and over and expecting a different result.

WET was pretty awesome. Not great by any means, though. It was a fun little action romp. It didn't sell gangbusters, but it actually did make profit for A2M. A2M, as odd as it may sound, is a very successful company. They balance out their new IPs with licensed stuff, so it all pays off for them.

Err, not to come off as juvenile, but does A2M stand for what I think it does?

Have there really been eight other episodes of DLC, or are they just being funny with their naming?

Oh I have, but most political classes the world over ceased being people long ago ;-)

@EmptySilence
I find it confounding as well. They must be desperate for an immediate cash infusion. Why else would you dedicate time and resources to prop up a flop by throwing the DLC hail mary?

@Dexter345 there were 7 episodes on the game and 2 DLC episodes.

I swear this dlc must have been finished before the game came out; no one wanted this.

I wonder if this would have fared better as a psn/xbla title. I think sub $20 pricing would have set expectations accordingly. From what ice read there isn't a whole lit of content so maybe a it makes more sense as a downloadable title. and you basically do the the sane things overcame over. It's too bad - the premise had my curiosity piqued. I'll gamefly it one of these days.

It will still suck.. even with pirates because it has only one lousy level and a supid gameply, which gets boring after a half hour >8(
