So, a couple of things you should know about the Penguin as he appears in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City.
First of all, he kind of looks like Jim Sterling. Let's not beat around the bush here. While Sterling didn't invent the monocle, clearly the folks at Rocksteady have seen our own villain and decided to borrow liberally for its own. Fine, as long as Jim's getting a check, we're cool.
Secondly, the Penguin talks a bit like Nolan North. That's because he is Nolan North. Well, voiced by him, at least. The ubiquitous voice actor, best known for his role as Uncharted's Nathan Drake, has spit out his best cockney accent for the role. To be fair, the capable North sounds nothing like Drake or even himself when spitting Penguin lines, so kudos to him for being good at his job.
Batman: Arkham City is out October 18.

It is. And I can't take this game seriously because of it. The voice box, sure. But the Coke bottle monocle? Nope. Last I remember, The Penguin was one of Batman's more sane villains.

I mean, having an insane asylum be taken over by a psychotic clown with an army of genetically modified mutant beast men is one thing, but the thickness of that eyepiece just destroys the realism for me.
And Nolan North? PREPOSTEROUS. God, they might as well have Batman voiced by some guy from a cartoon at this point.

I kid, North is awesome. It's just that sometimes he seems like a male Wendee Lee.
How can you not like him as Nathan Drake? He's the PERFECT game character. I couldn't see anyone else be a better Drake.
