Dante’s Inferno and Fairytale Fights share a few things in common. One of those things is an Achievement that nets players points for killing children -- an action most developers tend to avoid in their games. In Dante’s case specifically, Visceral Games plans to dish precious points for killing unbaptized infants with the “Bad Nanny” Achievement. This is, naturally, drawing ire.
The International Nanny Association has made it plain that they aren’t happy with the award, saying (via Game Politics) that it was “created out of poor taste and bad judgment” and play “may promote violence towards children.” Continuing in a statement of sorts, the INA says, furthermore, that the Achievement -- remember, dubbed “Bad Nanny” -- is “offensive to our organization.” Go figure!
We all knew this one was coming -- baby killing is generally frowned upon. But we look forward to a response from Visceral Games re: baby killing in regards to the INA’s statement. Of course we won’t see one, but still, it would be interesting.

I'd imagine an older lady, holding a parasol above her head, chastising me every time I punched a digital babby.
I love my babies with some butter garlic sauce and spit-roasted for 42 mins over an open flame.
@SocialNorms: It's definitely not in bad taste as they are delicious. Not shock value either, unless you count the cabbage I shock in cold water before I serve it.

How do these organizations find out this kind of news before I do?
I worked in a daycare when I was young... dealing with kids can certainly rev up the frustration factor - in fact this game might even be a nice non-violent therapy and release for those frustrations! :)
Now this I can explain - they don't understand irony or dark humor.
They are concerned nannies will be known as baby killers?
But this business about play “may promote violence towards children.”
If they are asserting people won't understand the irony of a joke, and cause people to think less of Nannies - wouldn't it encourage violence against nannies?
I mean - these nannies are 'killing' babies!?
We must seek revenge.
Is like someone asking japanese people about the "Snake in the Grass" archievenment in COD:WaW and then being surprised that people don't like it involves killing japanese.

That may make me sound like a horrible person, but I don't care because I know for damn sure I won't be hurting any real children.
I think THEY should be getting the Bad Nanny achievement.
