Namco resurrecting Dead to Rights later this year photo

Series reboots seem to be all the rage in not only Hollywood, but in the games industry as well. Case in point, Dead to Rights is making a comeback in Q4 of this year, according to the March issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine.

The game, which is neither a sequel or a prequel, but "a new beginning," is being worked on by Reservoir Dogs developer Volatile Games for release on the PlayStation 3 (duh) and reportedly on the Xbox 360 too.

Details are somewhat slim, but we do know that Jack Slate will return as the game's protagonist, hand-to-hand combat will be more involved this time around, and yes, you'll once again have a dog fighting by your side.

Personally, I need to see some footage or at the very least screenshots before I can judge the game. Of all the series to be carried over to this generation, we get Dead to Rights. How random.

Sadly, the first two games were appalling to play, with awful graphics and a real sense of complete unoriginality. They became the sort of games that felt like a job to finish rather than an experience.

On that basis, and the fact that the developer working on it is responsible for a terrible game based on a great movie, it does'nt look like I will be interested in this game, at all.

The first DTR was good, good challenge and the story was ok, the second was just horrid though, bad camera, bad controls, Jack was a goddamn joke, he even from a semi-serious character to a retarded stereotype and I guess he was retarded because the game had scenes where you suddenly forgot you had a gun and had to fight hand to hand.

The Xbox version of Dead To Rights was quite the challenge, then they came out with "easy mode". Holy Crap this game was hard.

My friends dad died while he was borrowing the first one from me, we never talked much after that. I just didn't have the balls to ask for it back. Needless to say I miss it and wouldn't mind a new one.
