Namco promises major announcement at Gamescom photo

Namco will be showing a whole bunch of titles at this year's Gamescom, and most of them we aleady saw at E3 this year (you can see the full list after the jump). Sounded pretty ho-hum, but then we heard via Joystiq that the pre-show press conference on August 19th will hold some special information in the form of "major exclusive new announcements". What might that be?

By the way, in case you're wondering why there's a whale jumping out of the ocean with a rainbow in the background as the header of this post and not a Namco-related picture, it's because I was in the mood to put one there. This job has PERKS, I tell you.

Anyway, what do you think this Namco announcement might be? A life sized version of Eternal Sonata's Chopin, perhaps? I love that my fantasy about this announcement has next to nothing to do with anything that might actually happen in real life. New Katamari games for the next fifty years?

My hope is that they're calling "do over!" on Xenosaga Episodes II & III, including bringing back Yasunori Mitsuda as the music composer and revamping the gameplay so that it matches Episode I.

I'm guessing they are gonna announce the PS3 release of Tales of Vesperia. I'm also pretty damn bad at guessing stuff, so yeah. >_>

More like I WANT it to be that.

Oh man, they're actually bringing the second Unlimited Cruise to other territories? I was seriously surprised by the first game. It was actually a lot of fun.

I'm hoping for some new Tales of Graces news. Or just any Tales news. How about the PSP version of Tales of Rebirth? Please?

I definitely don't want Xenosaga I+II to come out here. They switched the story over to follow the anime series more and it completely screwed it up.

Watch it be Mr. Driller Kart Racing for the Master System.

Is it too much to ask for a new Ridge Racer game... even when a new console hasn't been launched?
