It seems like we've been hearing nothing but studio closers happening left and right. Well there's some good news in this field as Namco Bandai is opening up a new studio in Vancouver, Canada. The British Columbia Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training website made the announcement, and the studio is expected to open this June with a focus on developing online social games.

This is good news for the city of Vancouver, as there was quite the exodus of Vancouver-based studios recently lured away to Toronto, Canada instead.

Namco is also set to open up a new studio over in Singapore in June, but no details were given on what this studio's focus will be.

I know, not the most exciting news but I wanted to share something positive in this aspect amidst the seemingly bleak state of the industry.

At first I thought it was "7ramed" and my mind was completing the title, however egregious, and then I realized it was "7Framed" and I can't tell if that's better or worse. Anyway, imagine you are a waiter, working like any ...more
