Namco Museum Essentials coming to PSN with updated Xevious photo

PlayStation 3 owners dying to get their hands on some classics are in for a treat. Namco Bandai has announced Namco Museum Essentials, a digital download title collection that will be released this July.

Yes, we’re talking a collection here, including Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig-Dug, Dragon Spirit, and Xevious. Also included is the “re-envisioned” Xevious: Resurrection, featuring 1080p visuals and “enhance gameplay for today’s refined shoot’ ‘em up audience.” Hey, that’s you! Namco Museum Essentials will support trophies, as well as PlayStation Home rewards and worldwide leaderboards. No pricing has been announced.

Additionally, it will be launching a dedicated PlayStation Home Destination which will feature trial versions of Namco Museum Essentials, along with screenshots and trailers of Namco Bandai games. And Idolm@ster items. Seriously.

Xbox 360 owners have seen some of these games on Xbox LIVE Arcade, but as individual downloads. Being able to grab a nice packaged collection should appeal to fans of the originals, and Xevious: Resurrection is a nice addition. But let’s hear more about those Idolm@ster items, right!?

Awesome! Curios as to how much it's going to cost though.

I'm a cheap bastard. How much? It's not a la carte is it? I might be into this if they can give us all those old ass games for under $15 somehow.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
