Ever vigilant in that department, Siliconera has unearthed another Japanese trademark, this time from Namco Bandai. It seems the company has registered something called Ridge Racer Accelerated, and if I had to guess, I'd say it's probably a new Ridge Racer game. Thanks, scientific method!
Nothing is known about it yet, obviously, but it's certainly been a while since we had a new Ridge Racer title, and I'm pleased to hear it's (probably) coming back. Is it a Wii title? A hot new HD console release? It's Ridge Racer, which is all I need to hear, but you guys feel free to take a guess if you like.

Probably a PSP game though, Maybe Bamco wants to butt heads with that game they called Gran Turismo, yet it somehow lacks a career mode.
I loved the first two to Ridge Racer games sooo much. Playing Ridge Racer 6 on xbox was like eating a pizza that had been pissed on.
Where does the series go though? Will it become like NfS, or like Burnout? I mean, even those are kind of merging ith the new Criterion NfS game. Has Ridge Racer had its time, or can pur arcade handling make a return?
i still play rr6 online sometimes, but those damn italians are better than i am.
Ridge Racer, to me, always seemed to have more in common with wipeout than other car racers. Flashy visuals, super fast futuristic cars, plenty of drifty action and the whole japanese arcade feel. I would happily buy into another RR it just needs to be brave. I dont think there was anything really wrong with RR6/7. They just felt too safe with the environments and car models. I think they just need to be more visually imaginative and creative.
here's hoping it's PS3.
