Remember that Korean RPG, Magna Carta? No? Well, pay attention: the Softmax-developed (which by the way, sounds like a mix of softcore and Cinemax to me) title which was recently confirmed as an Xbox 360 exclusive officially has a publisher in the form of Namco-Bandai.

No word on a release date yet, but since I loved both Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia, I tend to keep a close eye on whatever Namco-Bandai sees fit to publish when it comes to RPGs. I missed out on Magna Carta: Tears of Blood for PS2 -- anyone play it and love it?

Assuming you can get over the fact that the male lead seems to have hotter legs than the female love interest, the original Magna Carta is a top notch quirky RPG. I'd say it's right up your alley Colette. It's got a unique active battle system, a mature story, and some of the best graphics on the PS2. Not to mention the art is breathtaking.

I really don't see why they keep releasing exclusive RPGs other than Microsoft payouts. Neither Eternal Sonata or Tales of Vesperia seem to have done especially well as 360 exclusives; it's like they're ignoring twenty million potential buyers who explicitly want more RPGs (admittedly not all 20m of them want rpgs, but it isn't as though there are only a few there).

Also: Hyung-Tae Kim is a hell of an artist.

I have Magna Carta on my bookshelf. I bought the game purely because I love that guy's art. I never got around to playing the game past 2 after the intro movie though so I can't say how good or bad the game is. It's sitting next to all 3 Shadow Hearts games and BoF: Dragon Quarter as "PS2 rpgs that I bought but never played but will when I find time to" collection.

The gameplay was pretty bad in the PS2 Magna Carta. Combat was rigid and limited, it was kind of a real time turn based system or what not where you had to baby sit(IE control every character manually or just use 1 character as the other 2 stand around doing nothing) every character. It was a while ago, very wierd and not much fun.

ninji got pretty much all of it. Hated the battle system. The story seemed like it had potential, but the battles just made it too unbearable. It's a shame too, since I really wanted to like the game.

Game sucked. Don't get excited about this one.

Magna Carta as a series is pretty well known to have absoultely terrible gameplay and lackluster stories. The only reason to even look at news re: the game is for the art.
