ShootMania has been in development for how long?! In a chat with PC Gamer, TrackMania developer Nadeo dished out new details about the mysterious first-person shooter.
"A whole experience system could have been implemented into TrackMania, but a game based on skill is more interesting for the people we like to play with," says international project manager Edouard Beauchemin. "With ShootMania, it's the same thing. It's based on skill. There are no RPG mechanics. We want to make it as pure as possible."
"It's going to be a pure run and gun game," he says. "Even for weapons -- we limit it to a few so you don't have to think about buying the right weapons at the start of the game. You'll come with a gun in your hand and you'll start shooting. It's got a fun spirit. You're not pretending that you're a sniper from the US army. You're there to enjoy your game."
Sounds intriguing, and given how well customization worked for TrackMania, I'm eager to see how it'll translate to a completely different genre. Also, the art style. Can't wait to see how that looks.

The original Shadow Warrior escaped me completely. History won't repeat itself with the remake in development at Flying Wild Hog (Hard Reset) -- not after some hands-on time with the first-person shooter at E3. The game ...

The dawn of the next-generation of gaming is upon us, and if Battlefield 4 is any indication, multiplayer won't differ too much with the changing of the guard. Not yet anyway. That'll probably work just fine for fans of...
Payday 2 feels like one of the most ambitious sequels in recent memory. I was a fan of Payday: The Heist, which in and of itself is high praise. Normally I can't be bothered to play online multiplayer and I've had first-perso...
