Reportedly from the same esteemed programmers who brought you the Arwing and Dark Link hacks in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time comes what might be the magnum opus of N64 cart mods. I won't believe it until I play it myself, but we apparently have reason to believe that some insane Four Swords-style action will be coming to Ocarina in the near future.
This is the kind of modification Nintendo should be making themselves, preferably to their Virtual Console releases on the Wii. Between this and the Mother 3 translation hack, it seems like everywhere you look, Nintendo fans are working on Nintendo games in ways that Nintendo themselves just won't do.
You can thank me for not doing a tired "Ninten-don't" joke later.
The extent to which they hack these old games is crazy. However I can't imagine they're really going to make a full game based around this. Then again, they _did_ make a Mario64 level editor, which just boggles my mind to think of backwards engineering a 3d game to that point.

Don't forget the debugging and translation hacks of Starfox 2 and BS Zelda. It's sad, these days it sometimes seems like Nintendo fans have better ideas than Nintendo themselves do.
I don't want Nintendo messing with these games in anything but very minor ways, if at all, honestly.
Why do you want that? I don't really get messing with this stuff..it's about nostalgia and playing classic games...if you want Metroid with Multiplayer Deathmatch mode..make a new game don't stick it in the old one?
