My Life as a Darklord hits WiiWare this Friday photo

Although I loved the look of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, I found I was never able to get into it the way I wished I could have. Maybe I'll have that chance again now that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord is finally coming out. The game will be available starting July 17th, and puts you in the shoes of Mira, daughter of the Darklord and the gal responsible for keeping goody two shoes heroes out of her tower.

The game will cost 1000 Wii points and is considered a real-time strategy title. You can see of a few gameplay screens in the gallery. I'm a sucker for both tower defense and cutesy evil, so i have a feeling I may be spending a few hours with this one after it comes out. Look interesting to you, or not your thing?

About FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: My Life as a Darklord

Story

Introducing a new hero - or should that be villainess? The daughter of the Darklord!
Set fiendish traps for any adventurer foolish enough to cross you, and then send in your monstrous minions to finish the job!

Stop protecting the world as a goody-two-shoes king and start conquering it as a bad-to the-bone Darklord! Sure, there are legions of annoying adventurers determined to stop you, but as any self-respecting arch-villain would agree, swatting them is the best bit!

Features

    * Dynamic defensive gameplay - players rush to fortify their tower before it falls!
    * Darklord uses the setting and characters of the FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES series to add rich flavour to the relatively simple gameplay.
    * An abundance of audio and visuals stir up an intense, almost comical level of excitement for players.
    * Built around a basis of obtaining even more powerful Artifacts and Monsters in order to clear increasingly difficult stages.
    * The world map opens as players progress through the stages with various side quests being important for maximum completion.
    * Major downloadable content which adds to the replay values includes:
      - Artifacts
      - Defensive Monsters
      - Costumes for the Darklord's daughter
      - New maps (new stages)

My Life As King was a nice diversion, but didn't have a lot of staying power. I'll wait to see what you have to say about My Life as a Darklord. If you don't post a review I might bug you on twitter about it.

Is this available in America on Friday, or this date just for the UK release?
