Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Reminding us that they make games other than Manhunt 2, Rockstar Games has sent over the first images of the the massive Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition. In case you've forgotten what it was, between strangling puppies and pulling the wings off of birds, here's a run down of what you'll get:

The Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition will be presented in a customized Grand Theft Auto metal safety deposit box. The box will contain:

• Grand Theft Auto IV on the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system or the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, both with special packaging

• The Grand Theft Auto IV Art Book, featuring never-before-seen production artwork from Grand Theft Auto IV

• Selected soundtrack CD from Grand Theft Auto IV, featuring new material from top artists, only available on this release

• An exclusive Rockstar keychain for the safety deposit box keys

• Completing the collection is a limited edition Rockstar duffel bag

All of the items have been created with the utmost attention to detail to create a unique Grand Theft Auto IV experience for any fan of the series. The Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition is available for pre-orders today and will retail for $89.99 in North America.

The package certainly sounds sweet, and looks even sweeter. But $89.99 is a steep price point for stuff that might end up collecting dust under your bed. What say you, dear reader?

Better than a fucking Spartan head, I'll tell you that much. Seriously, that spartan head is fucking lame.

That is a LOT of crap. I would get it, but I imagine my wife would get sick of me running into whatever room she was in and yelling "Here is the delivery, just like we agreed. You were supposed to come alone!! DOUBLE CROSS!!!*BLAM BLAM BLAM*

Seriously though, I wonder what the returns are on special editions and why it makes it worth it for companies to keep making more elaborate ones.

That's kind of awesome for a special edition. I don't even want this game but this would make me buy it. I'm a sucker for limited edition stuff. But 90 bucks is just retarded.

DO WANT...

I will be preordering this in the near future, glad to see pictures though

this is also the first time I'll be getting GTA on a console(360) instead of waiting for the PC release, I hope the aiming controls are decent enough

And really, it's only $20 more than you'd be spending otherwise. Not a bad deal.

I can see if you're buying the the 360 version, you might want to save the money to buy the additional content on the marketplace. But if you're a PS3 owner, you have no excuse. I mean, what are you saving that extra $20 for? GAMES? LOLOLOLAOZL~!!

These are "jokes," guys. Just "jokes."

What's a joke???

Personally, the bag isn't doing much for me, but that safety deposit box looks mighty nice. The description makes it sound like it's just a keychain designed for safety deposit box keys, but if there's an actual safety deposit box I would be mighty tempted.

Yashoki, maybe it'll be the first PS3 game that actually looks better than its 360 counterpart.

...then again, maybe not.

That's hot. Even though I don't need the bag and would feel bad that my grandmother recently bought me a very nice bag.

It's definitely better than a miniature Spartan helmet, and I'm a big Halo fan and not really in to GTA.

I can't believe people are more impressed with the safety deposit box than the bag. Sure, the box is cool, but at least I could see the bag actually being useful.

Def gonna get the premium package, the "safe deposit box" (not safety) will come in handy while trying to hide my game from the ESRB!

The PRICE POINT doesn't seem too steep for all the extra swag, like Mr. Brutal said, only 20 dollars extra. A drop in the bucket.

Looks like Rockstar is actually giving you useful stuff with their package. Art books are always fun as are cds. Just as well, that duffel bag looks bigger than the one I use now as a LAN-bag.

i like it. actually providing you with almost everything you need to act out your favorite drug running scenarios in real life. remember kids, the police can't open your safe deposit box without a warrant (even in your car) so its a great place to keep your pokemons.

Too bad the game is just gonna be the same ole crap with a fresh coat of pain. *yawn* I don't see what's appealing about playing a common thug scratching his way to the top. Given, a common thug with a lot of guns and a pension for hookers.

Um...can you guys (Brutal, SpiderChrist, Grimspoon) do math? Last time I checked, $89.99 is THIRTY dollars more than $59.99, which will presumably be the retail price of the game alone.

That said, I’m seriously considering picking this up. I own every PS2 iteration of GTA except for Vice City Stories — and that’s only because I haven’t yet beaten Liberty City Stories.

You can store lolikins, pokemans, weed, more interesting drugs or best of all, just fill it with dirt and archie comics and lock it up so your mates go crazy trying to get into it! $30 extra ain't nothing for them LULZ!

It's like a real life rickroll...
