Having now charged through Modern Warfare 2's single player twice I am confident that I still have no idea who any of the other guys in the squad are other than Price and Soap. I know there was witty banter going on here and there, but it's hard to pay attention to it when the Russians are trying to rip you to shreds. Evidently, there are some popular characters in the squad and Ghost is one of them. He's so popular in fact that he got his own comic book and now he might be getting his own game. At the launch event for MW2 in the UK Craig Fairbrass, the man who voiced Ghost in MW2 and Gaz in the previous game (conspiracy!), had a few choice words about the future of his masked character.
“I did in the last game a voice for a character called Gaz and in this game I’m now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own and they’re talking about another little game to go with it,” Fairbrass said, “so, I’m quite excited about it. It’s grown and grown and grown.”
He was then questioned on why people got so excited over Ghost and responded, “I don’t know. It’s the whole thing I suppose of not knowing who he is. He’s like the head of the SAS and… I’m just so thrilled to be a part of it, I mean it just gets bigger and bigger each year.”
"Another little game" to go along with a comic book sounds like some flash game that accompanies the comic book's launch, but who knows. Since the world is evidently unsure of who he is, and people who paid attention to the game's characters have become attached to him, this could be a big time spin-off.
2. I think its stupid to be like "alright give a cool looking character another game" when its FPS and you do not see said cool looking character
The game has been out less than a week you see.
1. It doesn't matter, Price has died at least twice(can't remember did he die in MW1) and that was during WW2.
2. The main characters always look cool even though player themselves never see them, expect maybe during cut scenes.
Also, Activision spinoff BS.
Yes, he is Patrick Swayze.
Unless you know, his skull balaclava is fireproof and bulletproof XD
But it seems people like him for 1 reason and 1 reason only his skull mask.
Which if you ask me is a bit ridiculous.Kinda like how in Uncharted 2 MP when it comes to enemies everyone likes to play as that guy with the skull mask.
Not really hating on him completely just if he is getting his own game and such just ask they make him a more interesting character. A skull mask isn't interesting. but like I said haven't read the comic yet but I think i'll go and pick that up today and see if that changes anything
Also, what the hell is Calls of Duties?
Also this strikes me as IW/Acti trying to ride the Halo train. Just because other companies have rich storylines worthy of extra stuff to give a bit of background, doesn't mean you should do it too. I mean fuck, CoD is SHOOT DUDES TILL THEY DIE BECAUSE TERRORISTS ARE BAD. Why do we need spinoffs of that?
Hell, look at my avatar. It's a FLAMING skull, that's even more badass. I don't know why, but skulls are awesome, and that's probably the only reason why people like Ghost.
1) He is the same voice as Gaz and Gaz was awesome
2) Him, you, and Sop were the only guaranteed SAS soliders to show in a TF141 mission. The rest all had generic names like Boat, Meat, Shot.
OMG OMG OMG
Even ones like Ramierez and the Rangers who didn't die never really peaked my interest (although I suppose their levels were more about the US than them).
Soap and Price remain the only two I care for at all.
Could have been worse... It could have been like Gears where you never give two shits for any characters well being.
It's like Halo 3: ODST. Did it really need Halo 3 in there? No, but it solidified the sales.
THIS.
