Indie publisher, Gamecock, is on a mission to bring us games that feel hip and stylish instead of the latest fragfest or movie spin-off. One such title, Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars, fits nicely into this criteria and looks to raise a few eyebrows.
While this teaser video doesn't show in-game footage or reveal any juicy secrets, it does feature cool concept art including a cactus monster getting its arm cut off, a little mushroom man riding a lizard, and even raises the question, “are the side effects of shrooms irreversible?”
I'm excited to see how this unique style will translate to actual graphics and gameplay. Look for Mushroom Men on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, sometime in the future.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Every character in that teaser looks like a cock of some sort. The big red one even has a big old set of balls on it. I really think that Gamecock has the phallus sub-genre cornered with this one.
mushrooms have been found to have no lastic ill effects, as 99.99% of the psilocybin passes through the body in 12 hours. that is, of course, unless you picked the wrong kind, in which case you will die over a period of agonizing weeks as your liver and kidneys slowly seize up and fail
I highly approve of what Gamecock is doing. For those who didn't know, they're the original brains behind G.O.D. The Hail to the Chimp game they have in the works from the Stubbs the Zombie developers sounds pretty fun as well.

Was that the Final Fantasy cactus thingy?
