Nice! I've got a copy of Mushihimesama Futari for my 360, so if this comes out as a region free release and isn't too expensive (I got a Platinum/Greatest Hits copy of Futari for $40 shipped), I'll pick it up!
I was about to be really excited until I saw it wasn't likely to come stateside. Oh well, fingers crossed. Maybe we'll get lucky again.
I just watched that video.....good God....this looks cool, but it's probably a little too much for me. I had a hard enough time getting through Flying Hamster for cripes sake.
There's likely no need to import since Rising Star Games is now in North America and their first product will be Cave's Akai Katana.

I love these shoot'em up games (vertical and horizontal), but they're so hardcore focused that I simply refuse to play any of them unless I can use cheats or playthrough without getting a "now try again but on a harder difficulty/without using continues"-screen.

Don't take this the wrong way, but have you actually tried any of these games? To my knowledge all the 360 Cave ports have easy modes and you can credit feed your way through to learn the stages. And, really, what games have that screen? The only one I can think of is Contra 4...

Pick up one of the localised ones (Dodonpachi (PAL exclusive but it plays on US machines), Deathsmiles, Guwange (on XBLA) and soon-to-be Akai Katana to see what you think.

Most of the localized Cave shooters are bullet hell (danmaku) which is a legit sub-genre of shoot 'em ups. The Gundemonium collection is a lighter bullet hell, though.
But yea there are loli (young girl) themes in a lot of shmups - like Deathsmiles.

@Maniac All those Hardest boss ever YT vids are of its hardest mode, try looking vids of Manic or Original modes. There are novice modes of these 3 modes aswell. So there are lost of different difficulty levels ranging from ver very easy to stupidly hard

While Gundemonium is a PC doujin (indie fangame) shmup which tend to have a slightly different feel to them. The pacing can range from quite slow like Touhou is to similar to arcade like Crimson Clover.
There are some that have even faster pacing than most arcade shmups like Hellsinker

I'm with TrevHead. Start buying Akai Katana when it is released, and then we'll have a better chance of seeing Insect Princess appear in the West.
I'll definitely be importing this for my J360, but if Rising Star ends up localizing it I'll buy it again for my US-region system. These games deserve the support, and seldom get it.

@PrinceHeir Cave has said in interviews that the PS3 hardware is more complex than the 360's, so developing ports would be more expensive. Considering how low the sales of the console ports are (generally, speaking. Some do quite well) it just wouldn't be worth the development costs.
Which is unfortunate, because it's a lot easier to play PS3 imports thanks to the similar region for N. American and Japanese Blu-rays.
