Hear that rumbling in the distance? That's the sound of a tsunami brought on by the overactive salivary glands of a few thousand RPG lovers who've just heard the news about Cross Edge, a new PS3 game in development by Compile Heart.
Namco Bandai has joined forces with Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Gust, and Idea Factory to tell the story of a world whose only means of survival is to consume and destroy the souls of other worlds. Not much else is known about the game at this point, except that it will feature characters from Disgaea, Darkstalkers, Air Tonelico and Atelier Marie, likely among many others to be revealed in the coming months.
We do know that the game's battles revolve around an action points system that limits a character's involvement in each fight, so it doesn't sound like there's anything wildly different on that front, but we'll see about that as new info becomes available. Cross Edge is slated for a September release in Japan, at which point you'll have had plenty of time to mull over how gross that saliva thing I said earlier really was.

what?
If Square-Enix had joined in, I would have been a puddle on the floor for days. DAYS!
I think it's time to officially start saving for a PS3.
Yeah, I went there.
What you hear now is millions of fangirls around the world wetting themselves in glee. xD
This sort of thing needs to happen more often!
i believe this is in the book of symbolic endings of the world, japanese heavy hitters combine their powers and form up together to make an unstoppable mega machine.....
... or was that Voltron?
Thank you capcom nipon ichi and all you other Japs ....
This better friggin' come to the states.
i needs a ps3 now.
...I'm going to be cautious about this one. Though, the post picture made me want to nerdgasm so bad at the thought.
*urge to get PS3 rising...*
*Brain a splode*
NOW.
What? I don't freakin care if you don't have a script yet! Start translating!
The great thing about NIS America is that they listen to their fans. If enough people went to their website/message boards and made a wish on Pram's wishlist, they'll make it happen.
So when it gets closer to release those of us that REALLY want it need to make a fuss with them. They're the ones most likely to bring it over...
unless Capcom or Namco Bandai end up being bitches about it or something.
