I thought Sony was still beating Nintendo since the Wii is last-gen and the PS2 still sold more than it??? Haha just joking of course :P.
I still think the really winner is who ever makes the most profit, which would still be Nintendo I guess >.>
Wiizilla sounds like the most frightening thing ever
I think the winner only matters if what they offer is so much better than the competition. e.g. PS1, PS2....
This generation the Wii will probably win... But who is going to care? Look at the games we get, it is almost worse than what we got for the GC :(
I still think that Nintendo and their competitors will be surprised when the bottom of the casual market drops out. These casual "gamers" are like that girl you pick up at a bar and you're like "I love you" and shes like "oh, you were just a fling, I'm not a dedicated gamer" and you're like "then what was all that playing with my Wii" and shes like "yeah, that's a one time deal, don't call me, you're kinda clingy, but can I get a ride back to the nursing home?"
AUKWARD!
Does it really matter? Play the games that you like on the console that you prefer. All three consoles cater to different groups, the Wii especially, so it's practically impossible to make any kind of comparisons to them.
Agreed with John B, I don't think it really matters which company sells more consoles. I currently own Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS consoles, and I'm happy with all of them. As far as each console has good games, I'm 0k with them. If I haven't bought a PS3 is because I wouldn't feel comfortable investing $500 USD in 2 games (Uncharted and MGS4, so far, the only PS3 exclusive games I'm interested in).
b.b.but, I likey the cocky.
Also, for this generation, Nintendo is no winner in my book. They have the sales numbers to beat, but MS and Sony shouldn't have to strive to top those numbers because they've got more satisfied users, who are actually playing videogames.
Also, I hate Nintendo for making me hate Nintendo. I'm starting to troll and I don't like it.

Say "Hi" to Summa the next time you see him. :P
@el_chack: Uncharted and MGS4, so far, the only PS3 exclusive games I'm interested in.
I've been addicted to the new Ratchet & Clank ever since I got it from Amazon's sale last week. OMG ... that's an awesome game! Seriously, add it to your list ... although I do agree with the $$$ sentiment.
As often as people here like to bitch about how "useless" console sales are (for some reason I don't quite understand because the entire basis for market penetration is how many consoles are out there. It's not the be all end all figure but if Nintendo sold no Wii's they'd sell no games either) Nintendo has not yet cut prices and is making profit per console. Sony is losing tonnes of money per console and is 100% dependent upon software, accessories, and downloads. I think Microsoft is making money on their consoles but they've had to slash repeatedly to try and undermine the Wii price point and had the whole RROD debacle.
All that aside, all Sony or Microsoft have to do is finish in the black and possibly expand their brand recognition to succeed. Getting drubbed by Nintendo is not exactly expected but gaming is Nintendo's purpose so they're obviously in it win. Just making a profit isn't good enough for an entire company like it is for a gaming division.
yup they won't...they might beat them in game revs though. no one that has a wii owns more than 5 games.
It's a pretty big accomplishment for the xbox to sell more consoles than sony in only its second generation. Of course, a lot of that has to do with sony.
Ah, that's what's been bothering me about all these silly Nintendo jokes. They remind me of Robert Summa.
Hey, I can appreciate a good Nintendo joke, but all you people bring to the table is the tired old two GameCubes duct-taped together joke. It's older than Nintendo's target market!
Of course they won't outsell them, But IMO Nintendo's games will continue to plummet in quality. I don't need two more sonic games, The original was good enough for me.
I believe that even when Xbox or PS3 won't be able to outsell the Wii, who knows how long the Wii is even supposed to last. If Microsoft and Sony are smart, their systems should have a longer life cycle than 5 years. Look at the PS2 still running strong. Nintendo has a great system that caters to the casual gamer. I have a 360 and Wii and the Wii only gets playtime when I wanna play a nintendo first party game. The 360 has more features in the games that are multiplatform that make it an easy decision to rather buy games for that than the Wii. Nintendo has great people marketing the Wii, but that can't last much longer.
I think that MS and the big N need to team up and become the unstoppable force known as "Nintendosoft" or "Microtendo"
Well, I've gone out of Hibernation to post once on this forum... I feel special now, like the article is about me!!!!!!!!
Thoe I know it isn't I'll just ignore that part.
