Good point Holmes. I love Marcelene as a character. Originally I thought she was a dick until I saw all the episodes. She's a pretty rad dame now. I can't wait for the next new episode, I think it airs pretty soon.
Sometimes I see games like mother 3 and wish someone had shown them to me as a kid. There are so many games I missed in my childhood. I'm jealous that people got to experience certain games in their childhood that I didn't. Does that make sense? Mostly because games that I grew up with I feel a certain attachment to, just because of when it came out. I'll never feel the same way about say...*insert modern game* as I will about Donkey Kong. Those old games are like a portal to the past, and it's not quite the same playing them being grown up. They're still fun and charming, but they're not as endearing as they would have been if I played them with my giant 10 year old imagination. When I have a kid, I'm going to make him play....Every possible "classic" ever.

@ Master Crocodile- That's funny, because I often wish I was younger so I can properly enjoy a lot of the games that are popular with people in their teens and twenties. I don't want to name names, but there are a lot of "AAA games" that I feel like I'm just too old to appreciate anymore.
Once you hit your 30s', you start to see the same ideas and patterns recycle. It's harder and harder to get impressed with the same ideas repackaged with new graphics. Thing is though, I really wish that I could. I wish I could wipe my 30 years of gaming memories and experience some of the stuff for the first time that has younger gamers so excited, if even just for a little while.
Grass is always greener, I guess.
That's not what I was saying.
The crux of my point is that Marcaline's power is shown mostly through her various non-female forms. Werewolves, traditionally, are shown as men, and are very muscular appearance. Her Bat form is very unilateral, and not really indicative of female prowess.
There are plenty of feminine role models out there who show that women are equal to men in every facet - and a lot of them look feminine while they're doing it. I think *sometimes* tomboy/demonic women are trying "too hard" to be male, and I think some media likes to show that some of their power is derived from that copy-cat strategy - ie, you *have* to be at least part male to get the job done.
Some women - just don't care. They know they're strong; and they know they can do whatever they need to do.
Off the top of my head, Aeris[th] is a good feminine role model IMO. She loves flowers, yet she isn't afraid to kick ass in combat, or go on a huge adventure outside of her comfort zone, and sacrifice herself for the greater good.
