Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe screens are not so serious

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe screens are not so serious photo

Midway has kindly shared with us the latest screenshots for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, which reveal The Joker and The Green Lantern in action for the first time. For those who dont know, the Green Lantern is the one dressed in green.

The graphics are certainly not the best I've ever seen, but I'm certainly warming up to the concept. Sure, it's a ridiculous cash-in, but that doesn't mean it won't be fun to smack Batman in the face as Scorpion. Smash him right in his frigging face.

Either way, I'm one of the few people who didn't think that the modern MK games were all that bad, so I'm hoping for a thoroughly silly fighting game that should amuse, even if it won't blow one's bollocks off with creative revelation.

What if they announce Green Arrow for the game Jim? Or for some unknown reason the Martian Manhunter?

Looks like it could be a fun rental to get drunk with some friends and beat each other senseless for a night or two. Thats about all I'm expecting from this game.

I personally prefer the artistic direction of the Arkham Asylum game coming out. It's a little more demented, but I understand why they're using more classical versions for the DC designs (with credible updates to fit the MK universe). That may just be me, though.

I think this game is going to be mindlessly brilliant. Whatever that means. I'm still waiting on Lex Luthor and Raiden, but I'll definitely pick this one up. I kind of hope it's less than $60 though, because I'm going to feel like an ass after buying it. I don't think there are any fighting games that are really worth $60.

There is something weird about the Joker, I just can't put my finger on it.

I would say that it would be much more interesting to do a match up such as, Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter... but I'm pretty sure Street Fighter would win hands down.

I think pretty much every MK game has been at least decent(not including some of the old handhelds or spin offs).

I don't know why the more recent MK games get so much hate. I think it's a combination of the series' transition from 2D to 3D and the habbit people have of remembering the past as being better than it actually was.

Pretty much any 3D MK game is just as good a 3D fighter as any 2D MK game is a 2D fighter. I don't think MK's ever gotten better or worse. It's just gotten different, and some people can't stand change.
