Midway has revealed some brand new Fatalities for its upcoming franchise milker, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. This week, Sonya Blade, Catwoman and Sub Zero each get their chance to dish out the pain, while remembering to keep things as blood-free as possible.

These particular Fatalities are a little dull, to be honest. It really is a shame that DC won't let Midway go all out with these, because I'd personally like to see more than necks being broken and ice people getting shattered. Midway is capable of greater sadism, especially with characters like Catwoman thrown into the mix.

Subbies was... all right. Catwoman's was just bloody awful. Superman's (Not shown) was the only pretty cool 'Heroic Brutality' I've yet to see.

Still, I will buy this game.

Man, this game is going to be gay. I mean, how can a game rated less than Mature be any good? I only play Mortal Kombat games for the Fatalities. I usually have a friend play most of the match, and then, at the end, I hop in and do a Fatality. It's hella fun. I also only play Gears of War for the chainsaw kills and Fallout 3 for the critical headshots. You know, where the head goes KAPLOW! I can find no value from this game, solely based on the fact that the game isn't as gory as it was in the past. In short, I'm an idiot.

Agreed these fatalities are kind of lame. But I don't necessarily agree that the game is. Anyone who's actually played it will tell you they were pleasantly surprised. That's not to say it's going to replace your favorite competitive fighter, but you should check your expectations. And those expectation should be "I expect games to be fun."

That video was laughably bad. Mortal Kombat has never even been a "good" game. The reason why everybody (myself included) was the retardedly gruesome action. Even the old ones seem tame by today's new standards, but the Teen direction will NOT bode well for the series.

Wow, that was weak as hell. SFIV's ultra combos are waaaaay more brutal than these so-called "fatalities".

There are way too many good fighting games coming out to waste time on this fake-ass MK.

I'm going to play MK2 now; the last MK game that had actual technique AND fatalities.

I thought Sub-Zero's was pretty cool. They could have came up with some better shit for Sonya and Catwoman, though.I'm not going to bitch and moan about this game being T-rated though cause I know it's not like they want it to be so much as it most likely has to be with the inclusion of the DC heroes.As cool (and technically right) as it would be to have Superman pull someone's arm off and proceed to pummel them with it, it's just not happening.

Oh great. So the violent awfully bad game has ditched the violence. That leaves us with... Yeah, awfully bad game.

Honestly, it always annoyed me that people would like a game for the mere sake that it is violent and bloody and gruesome. Mortal Kombat is the absolute example of poor gameplay justified by stupidity and meaninglessness. If videogame is art, it has been that Hostel movie of gaming.

And now, it's not even bloody and brutal. Let's hope they've made at least a minimal effort towards making it PLAY well at least and at last.
