Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition announced photo

Warner Bros. has just announced Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, an enhanced reissue of last year's wacky fighting game

The new version will include the full game (obviously) alongside all previously released downloadable content. It will also pack the Mortal Kombat: Songs Inspired by the Warriors album, and the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie for download via the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Zune.

Komplete Edition will hit store shelves on February 28.

Excellent! The only reason I haven't picked this up yet is because I was waiting for all the DLC characters to be included. Getting it for sure.

I was just expecting the Game + DLC. I didn't think they'd throw in a soundtrack and movie. Good on them for that.

Not bad. I bought when it came out and traded it in shortly after. It may seem stupid to say, but I'm actually excited for this version. I am going to to wait a while before picking it up again though.

Again, early adopters are punished for buying the game new. Thanks!

What HEL105 said, it always pays to wait for the complete/goty edition, every. single. time.

Ha, so they did end up doing a "super" version after all.

Any details on price yet?

At least they waited until the year changed before pulling this. More than can be said of Crapcock.

Awesome. So if you think the game is bad, at least the movie won't betray expectations.

I was hoping this would mean they'd be willing to release a Wii version now.

@randombullseye: Not really, unless you're really that mad about not getting an album and the Mortal Kombat movie of all things.

I might by a PS3 version of this even though I already own a 360 version with all the DLC

Unless the DLC is already on the disc, I see no reason for me to get it.
I have all the DLC but I'd ratehr have them on disc than hard drive.

Same here. I felt dumb about not getting the PS3 version with Kratos, but then PSN went down. What a week that was.

Errg, I just got MK9. I'll pick this up at a really low price drop, maybe. Really low. Wish a PC port was coming, this seems like it would be the time to do it.

blahh.. hopefully they drop the price on all the DLC... I just bought this a few months ago, figureing "Eh, they aint capcom, won't do a "full version" if they were going to, they would have already"

Cue complete version.. nuts.

The Wii doesn't not have the resources to run the Unreal Engine, the PS3 barely can for that matter.

Don't know why people are comparing this to SSF4AE and UMVC3.

Those capcom games added like 10+ "new" characters and updated/patched old characters to support the FGC while MKKE is more of a GOTY thing with music, a movie and previous dlc thrown in with casuals in mind as none of this effects tournament play.

This is more comparable to LPB GOTY edition or something like that.

Best fighting game this generation, IMO, and best MK to date. I highly this to anyone with two thumbs!

I hope the online is compatible with vanilla MK as to not fragment the player base.

If it wasn't for the fact that I got the movie on BLu-Ray for Christmas, and the original game for forty bucks on Amazon, I would totally buy this. But hey for those of you haven't played it, definitely pick this up: it's my favorite fighting game of 2011.

Meh, at least you most likely NEED this new version to keep playing with everyone online, ala SSF4, UMvC3. This was easily one of the best fighting games of the year, and if more people get access to the DLC characters for a price cut, sounds all the better. Will probably pick this up myself, since the bullshit DVD holder inside cracked my original copy anyway...

Might get this for ps3 cause I really wanna try a fighting game on my 3d display :) Also, I didnt play MK in ages and I wanna get back into it but I tried the demo and I couldnt even do a finisher move :/ Still might get it tho cause its the best fighter of the year, also it has KRATOS!

Mortal Kombat 9... meh. Too busy with KOFXIII.
All the DLC... meh. They're all tournament banned and not Johnny Cage anyway.
Soundtrack... meh. I doubt it has anything on my Shatter soundtrack.
The 1995 movie... well, now I'm interested.

Why do we even bother to pay for fighting games at day 1 prices anymore. The fucking game isn't even a year old. As much as I enjoyed it, I do feel ripped off by this considering I never played online. Not cause I didn't want to, you know Sony getting hacked saw to it XD.

So basically what should've been to begin with, right? Like the old days, to get everything already on the disc.

Oops, most likely don't need this version to keep playing with the same people.

@Raukue: Explain this to me please, as I personally thought MK9 was pretty complete as it was. It featured DLC characters that were not on the disc, and gave you free costume packs, unlike a lot of other fighters now a days. If they were on disc, I'd probably be a little better, but that wasn't the case for this, and I think NRS actually deserves a little more recognition for that, as they made it worth picking up on release.

glad i freaking waited on this :P

same with RDR :P

i think the good thing about the GOTY editions is that you don't have to worry about DLC during tournament play just pop the disc and all the content is there :P

unless it's a capcom game(FUCK you capcom for no including the costumes in the retail disc of SSFIV AE)

ROFL this pack makes me cackle. I was just expecting Game and DLC stuff but day-um they're going crazy for it.

I haven't gotten the game yet, which I guess is a good thing because of this.. But now it feels like I should be deciding whether I want the Kollectors edition with the awesome book/game ends or if I want the Komplete edition that cuts out having to spend more money.. Guess its going to come down to the price of everything in the end.

Adding in the 1995 movie has me on the floor.. lololol
