Mortal Kombat is now streamable from Netflix photo

Now you -- yes, you, hopeful tournament entrant -- can return to Man Island thanks to the wonders of Netflix streaming technology. The first Mortal Kombat movie is up on Instant Watch, and can be viewed from this fine link.

Based on the opinions of more than 300,000 Netflix members, this movie is a solid 3.3 out of 5. Personally, I found the PG-13 level of violence to be a bit on the soft side and, well, boring. For gorehounds such as myself, it might be wise to watch Mortal Kombat alongside Podtoid's commentary.

Hell, that's strong advice for anyone thinking of watching this movie. For those with family members who are against unnecessary and constant dramatic flipping, it is best you have them leave the room before starting the stream up.

3.3 out of 5?! I'd give the movie a 3 instead. Love the soundtrack though.

This is still probably the first or second best VG movie ever made for the fight scenes alone.

The other would have to be Silent Hill, minus the 5 minute "HERE IS THE EXPLANATION FOR EVERYTHING" scene at the end of the movie.

I agree DinnerTimeNinja.

Silent Hill treated the subject matter with respect, and was a very decent freaky horror flick.

Also..... Zero Signal by Fear Factory during the Johnny Cage/Scorpion fight.... FUCKING AWESOME.

Only watching it now did I know that was Fear Factory. Back when I saw this ages ago during middle school I was not into metal but I knew that track was awesome.

Agreed, very awesome. I think I might fire up some Fear Factory right now

I forgot that fear factory was in this, oh well. Too bad FF has been stumbling after obsolete, but it seems that mechanize has fixed that.

One of the few watchable video game movies. And has been said, the soundtrack is pretty great as well.
