They didn't announce the release date of the Wii until mid-September 2006, so this isn't a surprise.
The controller is not even tablet, but a dumb terminal only capable of displaying an interactive video stream and the transmitting player's input, camera feed, and NFC data. There is no justification for higher than $250 other than profit taking.
for anything Nintendo-related i can use my 3DS, and that's enough.
Chris, read this well, you screwed up your interpretation of his statements.
The system will get the full info reveal in september, but its still coming out octover or november
- 3DS came out 5 months later in Japan and 6 months later in North America after the Fall Conference. Japan's price, release date, and launch colors were announced along with the Mii Maker, Virtual Console support,as well as the finalized 3DS hardware design as well as the charge cradle and 2 GB SD card being bundled with it. Other things like the augmented reality games included with the 3DS and the official names of StreetPass and SpotPass were all announced.
- Wii price and release date details were announced worldwide in Fall 2006. There was originally 33 launch titles planned, but it was around 23 with some games like Metroid Prime 3 getting pushed back until Q3 2007.
So far, Wii U has more launch/launch window titles than Wii did. EA of course, said it will be announcing some new titles (apparently Sports-related) during a July event. Wii U also has around 8 eShop games announced for it.
If they dont its a huge mistake
i will take nintendos word over an investor
I wouldn't count on Nintendoland being a pack-in. It's already being listed as a separate SKU.
And there is a lot of talk about the WiiU launching with different SKUs with different pack-ins.
I totally expect them to sell a "Core" system with no games and only the tablet controller for $250, and a "Starter" with Nintendo Land, one Tablet and two Wii Remore+ controllers and Nunchucks for $300-350.
