More War of the Worlds footage to gawk at lovingly
Here we have the latest trailer for War of the Worlds. Once again, it's narrated by Patrick Stewart, so I know you'll watch it. He ruminates on how tiny we must look to Martians. It's all very excellent. I want to play this. The visuals with all the shadows look fantastic and I could really go for a simple, side-scrolling platformer at this point. I think War of the Worlds is going to fit that bill when it releases on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network later this month. You can check out some additional screenshots in our gallery. Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I just do not get the hype for this game at all. It just kind of looks like a cross between Limbo, without the distinct atmosphere, and classic Prince of Persia, without the great animation. I can't stop envisioning this as an intro to an American Dad episode, via Deputy Director Bullock... OH god this looks so awesome. it is almost like they took everything about Cannabalt except for the arcadiness and slammed Stewart into it.Which, needless to say, sounds INCREDIBLE ...yeah, I agree with these negative sentiments. It doesn't look BAD, but it certainly doesn't look very appealing, either. I've seen this done enough already. Maybe it's a hipster thing Picard makes everything better... The trailer of what looks like a decent (but not great) platform games turns into epic. Looks cool! Man, Patrick Stewart makes anything better! He was awesome as the narrator in Lords of Shadow! I still think that game was way underrated. Sure it was a hack and slash platformer like God of War, but it was a damn fine one, above its flaws. I kind of like the aesthetic for the game, but in all honesty I'd probably buy Nintendogs if it had narration by Patrick Stewart. 3:00 PM on 05.23.2013 Spot all the new stuff in this Terraria 1.2 preview videoEarly last year, Terraria developer Redigit released a statement that there would be no more major updates to the 2D open-world phenomenon, citing fatherhood as the main reason for moving on. 10:00 AM on 05.16.2013 Nintendo Download: Mega Man 5 and Super MetroidToday is not a particularly shiny Nintendo Download day, as the bulk of it is retro-centric. The Wii U will actually be getting a few things this week, with Super Mario Bros. 2 on the Wii U Virtual Console, as well as Super G...

| 5:00 PM on 11.01.2011 Review: The War of the Worlds |

In 1898, H.G. Wells published a tale of invaders from another world, descending upon Earth's cities with a terrible force. The War of the Worlds has been adapted into every form of media since that time, including a couple of videogames. The latest attempt to tell the story has arrived on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, bringing tripods and heat rays with it.more

| 4:45 PM on 09.01.2011 The War of the Worlds gets new screens and a trailer |

I am really quite excited for The War of the Worlds, having played it at PAX. The moody, death-riddled platforming as seen in classics like Heart of Darkness and the more recent Limbo really resonates with me, and I think this could be a real winner. We've got a selection of screens and a new trailer for you to take a peek at, so go do that. Hopefully some of you care as much as I do. more
