Update: Everyone calm down and carry on: Sony has confirmed that it's fake.
What the hell is this video? It seems it's a viral for Sony's PlayStation line. Kotaku says that it popped up this weekend.
It shows some scientist-looking people frantically running through the S.C.E. Principal Scientific Research Laboratory, Minami-Aoyama, in Tokyo, Japan. They run through hallways (shakycam -- ugh!) and finally find themselves in a room where a guy with what looks to be wearing 3D glasses is lying on the floor, frozen, mouth agape. They try to take away his controller but he starts screaming. Then the video shows some test bars with the text "PS4 V.3.1 - shibraku omochi kudasai" which means something like "please wait for awhile."
Before you start jumping to conclusions, know that we have no idea where this video came from. It does prominently name Sony and show PlayStation logos and what looks to be the same 3D glasses Sony uses for their sets and hardware, but anyone could have put this together.
If this is real, what is it trying to promote? 3D gaming? I don't think it does a very good job, if so.
