More NXE preview invites have been sent

More NXE preview invites have been sent photo
     Xbox 360
The third and final wave of the New Xbox Experience preview program has commenced. Over 10,000 Xbox Live members who signed up for the preview program have been sent e-mails telling them if they made it. According to Major Nelson the invites will be tossed out at some point this afternoon.

Our very own RedRabbit was lucky enough to get chosen from the pool of people who originally filled out the survey.  It seems as though this isn’t without hitches, as he was suspended from Xbox Live on the same day he got access to the preview. Is it the result of a conspiracy to keep fans from enjoying NXE's goodies?

If you still don’t know what NXE is all about, you can check out Nick’s preview of all of its nifty features. For those of you feeling neglected, the wait isn’t long. The New Xbox Experience will be available for download on November 19.

Got mine today as well. And as there is no reason for me to be banned, I should be downloading it after work.

@Naia

I was fine with waiting until Wednesday. I filled out the initial survey a few weeks ago, and when I didn't get in, I just thought "oh well, the 19th isn't too far from now."

I did get a little excited when I saw the email this morning, but then realized I am getting excited over a dashboard update.

No rush to get home just for this, but it'll be cool to play around with it.

I'm more excited for the Dead Kennedys three-pack for Rock Band. Very excited.

I got my e-mail last night. Looking forward to checking it out. More than anything I think I'm excited for the game install option, as I sit very close to my 360 and the disc spinning is annoying as hell. Faster load times are welcome, too. :D

Got mine, too. I'm kinda' iffy about the avatar stuff, but I won't mind testing the whole game installation thing!

I feel special..special and pretty.

Just to clarify: I was suspended for having a quote from Gears of War 2 that can be found Here in my Xbox LIVE bio, which contained one instance of the word "shit" and one instance of the word "fuck". This resulted in my one week suspension.

I got in a few weeks ago and it's been a lot of fun. I loaded Fable 2 on my HDD to try the faster load feature and it was nice. The one thing I could complain about was losing the ability to chat with my friends over Live that didn't get into the NXE beta. The embedded videos and trailers in the marketplace are really neat. It's nice to watch something right then and there rather than download a ton of videos and then watch them. A friend let me use his Netflix account to try out the Netflix app on NXE and it's amazing. I was instantly convinced after trying it out and got my own account the very next day.

Besides all the fancy new stuff to play around with, the little differences within the Xbox environment (i.e. System tools and the like) make this update really awesome. For the first time I was able to really dig into my HDD and look at game saves and DLC separately to help clean up space. The interface is pretty intuitive once you get a feel for it.

Is this a demo, preview of beta? Oh wait, it's MS, it's just a PR drive.

Bug fixes + UI + things previously slagged off + PR = ZOMG BEST INNOVATION EVER

I just got mine and I am currently installing it on the 360. Shouldn't take long though as far as I've heard.
The rest of you: Either shiver in envy or just don't give a fuck. Both is fine with me because I got NXE ^^

Yeah, I got mine too... Honestly though with Mirror's Edge and L4D demo I doubt I'll put much if any time into this before everyone else gets it.

Got mine randomly, I hope there's more customization for the avatar in the final build, some of the stuff was pretty weak.

Hooray, I'm in!

I really like it, if only for game installation.

I can actually play Fable II without it freezing every time I enter the menu.

Its a strange feeling I'm having...is it love?

No of course not! I know what an erection feels like.

I got in as well... Yay!

You know, I really wish they'd done a soft launch with this and done the whole "preview" thing on a larger scale with a longer window. Launching something bigger than the regular dashboard updates to EVERYONE on a single day just seems like asking for trouble given how prone XBL has been to crashes on heavy traffic days. Most people know this is coming, and I was beginning to think that I just would avoid going online entirely on my Xbox next week until this cleared up.

Thankfully this isn't the case, though it remains to be seen how bad it'll be for those who already have NXE and aren't being forced to suffer through the forced download.

Avatars are lame.
Also, since I downloaded it, Fable II crashes within five minutes of booting from disc, consistently. I don't have room for a hdd install right now, so I'm a bit buggered it seems.

I got the new update as well.
It's pretty cool, nothing fantasmically innovative has happened so far.
Just all in all more graphically pleasing.
