The third and final wave of the New Xbox Experience preview program has commenced. Over 10,000 Xbox Live members who signed up for the preview program have been sent e-mails telling them if they made it. According to
Major Nelson the invites will be tossed out at some point this afternoon.
Our very own
RedRabbit was lucky enough to get chosen from the pool of people who originally filled out the survey. It seems as though this isn’t without hitches, as he was suspended from Xbox Live on the same day he got access to the preview. Is it the result of a conspiracy to keep fans from enjoying NXE's goodies?
If you still don’t know what NXE is all about, you can check out Nick’s
preview of all of its nifty features. For those of you feeling neglected, the wait isn’t long. The New Xbox Experience will be available for download on November 19.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
(yes, I have a illegally modified console)

I can wait till wednesday... really.
I can wait too.
I was fine with waiting until Wednesday. I filled out the initial survey a few weeks ago, and when I didn't get in, I just thought "oh well, the 19th isn't too far from now."
I did get a little excited when I saw the email this morning, but then realized I am getting excited over a dashboard update.
No rush to get home just for this, but it'll be cool to play around with it.
I'm more excited for the Dead Kennedys three-pack for Rock Band. Very excited.
I feel special..special and pretty.
Besides all the fancy new stuff to play around with, the little differences within the Xbox environment (i.e. System tools and the like) make this update really awesome. For the first time I was able to really dig into my HDD and look at game saves and DLC separately to help clean up space. The interface is pretty intuitive once you get a feel for it.
Bug fixes + UI + things previously slagged off + PR = ZOMG BEST INNOVATION EVER
The rest of you: Either shiver in envy or just don't give a fuck. Both is fine with me because I got NXE ^^
I really like it, if only for game installation.
I can actually play Fable II without it freezing every time I enter the menu.
Its a strange feeling I'm having...is it love?
No of course not! I know what an erection feels like.
You know, I really wish they'd done a soft launch with this and done the whole "preview" thing on a larger scale with a longer window. Launching something bigger than the regular dashboard updates to EVERYONE on a single day just seems like asking for trouble given how prone XBL has been to crashes on heavy traffic days. Most people know this is coming, and I was beginning to think that I just would avoid going online entirely on my Xbox next week until this cleared up.
Thankfully this isn't the case, though it remains to be seen how bad it'll be for those who already have NXE and aren't being forced to suffer through the forced download.
Also Avatars are lame.
Avatars are lame.
Also, since I downloaded it, Fable II crashes within five minutes of booting from disc, consistently. I don't have room for a hdd install right now, so I'm a bit buggered it seems.
It's pretty cool, nothing fantasmically innovative has happened so far.
Just all in all more graphically pleasing.
