More Mega Man 9 DLC released today photo

Wow, Capcom's getting some real mileage out of Mega Man 9. It's another week, and there is more downloadable content on the way for every retrohead's wet dream. This week, you can exchange your money for some extra difficulty modes! You're going to do it as well, because you are Capcom's performing seals. Every last one of you.

As well as the new Hard and Expert modes, an extra time attack stage is also up for grabs, which includes a new boss. Here's what Capcom is offering:

Hard Mode – Dubbed Hero Mode in Japan, this mode enables you to play the entire game on an increased difficulty level with alternate enemy distribution and spawning points. Hard Mode is not compatible with Rankings or Challenges Modes.

Expert Mode – Dubbed Super Hero Mode Japan, this mode represents the apex of Mega Man 9 difficulty settings and is not for the novice Mega Man 9 player. This mode triples the level of difficulty from the default Mega Man 9 game. Expert Mode is not compatible with Rankings or Challenges Modes.

Special Time Attack Stage – This DLC gives you an additional stage for Time Attack Mode, complete with an all new level and Robot Master Boss, “Fake Man.” Similar in difficulty to the Willy Stages, players will have a fun time tackling this time sensitive competitive stage. Special Time Attack Stage is not compatible with Challenge Mode.
The new DLC will be released today on WiiWare, tomorrow on Xbox Live and Thursday on the PlayStation Network. Is it just me, or does this week's content have more than a whiff of the Namco Bandai about it?

Oh wow. I had no idea that the extra difficulty modes had entirely new enemy placement. I thought it was all stuff like extra damage and extra knockback and what. I'm probably going to get that now, it's almost like buying a totally new game.

Also new stage yay :3

The price of all three of these put together is like 3 bucks. Hardly highway robbery.

5 bucks for a new fighting character.. meh.. that seems a little more extreme.

You're dead on, Holmes. Though Capcom published it, the Mega Man 9 DLC is eerily reminiscent of how Namco Bandai does DLC; send you an incomplete game and charge you for filling in the blanks.

At least it's not overpriced. I'm passing on it, as I don't like paying for something that really should have been included in the game from the get go (extra difficulty modes, I'm looking at you). But I'll admit that the new boss level idea is kinda cool, even if the boss itself sounds kinda lame.

Honestly, people, these new difficulty modes are like entirely new games, from what I'm hearing. Totally new enemy layouts make you play the entire game differently, and it's a buck. I feel I got ten dollars worth out of the original download, and I'll pay an extra dollar for what is basically an entirely new game.

Namco's paying $5 for a character is bull. Paying $2-5 for stages in an already $60 game like Katamari is bull. Paying for EXP in Tales is bull. This is actually pretty decent DLC, for a decent price. Would I have preferred it come with the game? Sure. But it's not like paying for Horse Armor or anything. Save your outrage for something turly outrageous.

I'd rather they actauly have addon downloadables like...say, SNES Mode where everything looks like Megaman and Bass.

The boss in th specail stage is a total dissapoint, I was expecting Zero, X or...hell, AstroBoy or something, something that would blow my mind.

I'm more than happy to play 1 euro for a new stage, especially when there are companies charging you 5 (insert currency here) for a character who is already in the disc you bought for 60 (insert currency again).
I got Proto Man mode and it was worth it.

I wouldn't say these new difficulty modes sound like an entirely new games, but they will surely provide more enjoyment than you average McChicken sandwich would.

I'll get my impressions of this DLC done tonight. Still isn't availble for download where I am.

I haven't beaten the game on regular yet. I couldn't imagine it being 3 TIMES as hard, unless Mega Man were to just teleport straight down into some spikes at the beginning of any given level.

Glad I waited. What a total rip off.
I bought it anyway.
It shoulda been only one wii point for all of em so I'd have 99 points stuck on my wii account forever! O-o

Actually no. (besdies buying it)
Its not bad for a buck each.
The extra stage is kinda nice even though they reuse mini bosses and it pretty much just feels like a cut Wily stage.

The Difficulties are kinda cool and really ramp things up.
If you find the main game easy after so many plays this should please ya just well.
Though you may wanna try Hard/Hero mode first before buying Super Hero/Very Hard mode.
Or for the real experts just skip to Super hard.
Though if you want the complete thing and wanna see the differnces then two bucks isn't bad.
Though if you ever checked out those Megaman NES hacks that make the game unbeleivably hard and pointless then this may feel like that. Though with alot more polish and a tad bit of forgivness here and there.

Now I was hoping for some more Bass appearences or as a playable chatecter but you know what, I don't think Capcom is gonna make anymore content.
Just a hunch.
I bet they had all these things packaged in the game and we are just downlaoding unlocks.
Though several bunchs of years from now the service will probably be gone and I'll have the complete package and everyone else will have to just download it for free with everything hacked open.
Poor future Megaman 9 players. I pity them.

And yes, when I'm in my ninties Im gonna still play me some freaken MM9 damn it.
Providing we don't all spontainously combust due to overly high stupidity levels.
That might be more fact than fiction though....
