I know you're probably all reeling from the improbability of this past weekend's rumored LEGO Rock Band title (seriously, WTF?), but there's more LEGO rumors where that came from. According to Eurogamer, a source close to developer Traveler's Tales has whispered that the rumored LEGO Harry Potter title -- a likely pairing, based off this year's film release of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and the licensed LEGO toys -- won't be happening in 2009. Eurogamer speculates that based on information they've heard, a follow up to last year's LEGO Indiana Jones is likely, however. These are my favorite rumors, the ones where sources claim things that haven't been confirmed aren't happening. I can come up with a few of these as well, so here we go: there will be no Madden/Mutant League Football crossover coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade, and Sony isn't considering releasing a portable system that acts as a pedometer and catches fire when you press the "select" button. But on a serious note, the lack of a LEGO Harry Potter title isn't a huge loss, but the idea of another installment of the LEGO Indiana Jones series is troubling. I respect the folks at Traveler's Tales, and have always enjoyed their games, but I'm not sure we need another game that plays like last year's title with some new LEGO pieces. It's time to branch out a little, guys; surprise us in 2009, OK?

Here's a cute trailer for the coming conclusion of the epic LEGO Harry Potter saga, LEGO Harry Potter: Years-5-7. Voldemort is working on being creepy but we all know what he really just wants in life (unlife? re-life?) is to be loved. Perhaps this little boost to his self-image will do the trick.
