Usually I would balk at such a price for a Ware gme, but its WayForward, so its a reasonable asking price.
If anything, the price reassures me that there'll be a lot of content in this upcoming game. Fair do's to them if there is, it'll probably be worth the £10.
I'm not buying anymore DSiWare until Nintendo announces some kind of Nintendo account or something. No use buying the game in October if I can just buy it on my 3DS a little bit later.
@wicked If you're waiting for Nintendo to make a "Nintendo account" I guess that means you'll never be downloading anything from a Nintendo download service : P
Honestly, I'm thrilled it's one game. That would suck if they released one part, then couldn't finish the others before 3DSware comes out. Hopefully they'll be able to put Mighty Flip Champs and Shantae on 3DSware as well.

$12 is too much for ANY nintendo dl title, wiiware included. looks like i'll be missing out on the second shantae, just like i missed out on the first one.
If the cart is $100+, is it okay to play it on an emu? Just curious, but that would be a pre-requisite for me spending $15 on a DSi sequel.
@ CapnCrunk - Is it legal? Not really, but even if you buy the cart, the devs/producers won't see any of it. If pirating one old game means you'll end up making a $15 purchase from them in the future, I don't think it's such a horrible thing to do.
If they're putting all three episodes into one download, $12 sounds about right. Will probably be my first download when I get a DSi/3DS(Hopefully).
I missed out on Shantae before because I didn't feel upgrading to a Gameboy Color was entirely necessary, especially since I had just bought a Gameboy Pocket beforehand and knew something bigger and better would be on its way.
Looks like the same will be happening for the sequel. I've got a DS, didn't feel the need to get a DSi, and I may as well wait for a 3DS than buy a DSi for one game.

The way that is redacted this article sounds like trying to encourage people to not buying shantae. Yeah maybe is the most expensive DSiware, but is the whole game. For many people the episodic downloads are annoying, also, with the episodic games the companies get more money from us.

@Kylehyde: Not sure what your use of the word "redacted" is supposed to mean there but I'm sorry if I gave the impression that I was encouraging people not to purchase it. I really have no horse in this race. That it happens to be the most expensive game on the service is just an interesting footnote.
considering how lkong Ive been waiting for the damn game 12 bucks is nothing, altho I would still rather have it relesed in a box, I want it up on my shelf next to the original, as it is Ill have to wait till the 3ds comes out to buy it since I dont have a dsi
It's still a steal at that price. This game will likely wipe the floor with most $30 DS titles. Now if only I had a 3DS so I could download it...
Quit bitching about the price. Mighty Flip Champs was amazing, and it was close to launch date when it came out. Ive been wanting this game ever since I first heard of it, based solely on the art style alone. I love a quirky game with bright colors. I know I cant convince all of you, but to the few I do reach, dont fucking pirate this game. Alot of effort went into it. Respek.
I had interest in playing the original but never got around to it. I regret that greatly now...
